But I really enjoyed the live music. Omgosh it brought back memories.
Tue thru Fri discount appetizers and they are so delicious
Within 4 hours my stomach was cramping. And within 6 hours I was on the toilet for every 5 minutes. And all day the next day. Had to miss work. Doctor said it was in fact food poisoning.
I called the following day to report it and was told that the manager Would call me back. (I’m trained in food handling. And it is supposed to be reported. And the contaminated food is supposed to be disposed of immediately.)
I followed up the next day since I never got a call and surprisingly was speaking directly to the owner. He told me that it couldn’t have been his food since he personally cuts the spinach. And that food poisoning takes 24 hours and that it was likely whenever I had the day prior. What he doesn’t realize is that I fast often and hadn’t had food. His meal was the only meal I had. And my doctor said that food poisoning takes 4 to 6 hours. When I clarified this with the owner, he said that’s not a “peeing contest.” And that he’s not going to argue with me about the number of hours Food poisoning takes to go through your system. I told him since he was being dismissive of my feedback, and since I am trained in food safety, I know I was supposed to immediately report it so that way they can throw away any contaminated food. He didn’t seem interested in any of this information. Mind you I started this conversation with I’m not trying to seek any compensation. I just wanna make sure you’re aware. But his pride is way bigger than actually caring about a new customer’s experience. My first order was over $100. (The Doctor visit $89.) For two people. Their loss honestly. I can tell the food is likely made with care. And the recipes are good. But if this is how they handle food poisoning complaints. That likely means he’s just as dismissive on food safety guidelines as well.
I’m shocked about the way he chose to respond today. His wait staff is exceptional. And it’s sad he is as close minded as he was on this call. I feel sorry for anyone who has feedback or comments that don’t align exactly with that he believes. Textbook pride and narcissism. He’s the type of person who was never told no. Or you’re wrong. What he doesn’t realize is contamination could have been completely out of his control. And not his fault at all. But responding this way is not how you run a business. He needs to read the book “How to win friends and influence people.”
Additional note: portions for dine in seem to be bigger than to go. I ordered 4 lasagnas to go. And it was a much smaller portion that what’s in the photo here. I was disappointed.
Good luck to this little restaurant with that type of leadership.
