The Pub did a terrific job of handling our party of 15! We were promptly seated in a smallish dining room, with a very pleasant view. The waitstaff were prompt and courteous, and managed to keep all of us straight. The menu had choices for everyone, good for the vegetarians and non-seafood eaters in our group, and it was all delicious. I have only 2 complaints: first, that the signage for both The Pub and appropriate parking was not wildly easy to find, and second, I found the noise level somewhat difficult. While I realize that the restaurant does not have complete control over that, being seated right in front of the musical entertainment made conversation around our party difficult. Don’t get me wrong, I really enjoyed the music (and did request a song even), but it was hard to compete.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We stayed at the inn for the weekend and it was just such a lovely dinner.
From the views to the food to the cocktails.
My husband had the haddock, and I had the scallops. Both were perfectly cooked, beautiful plating and so fresh. Staff was super attentive and we are Looking forward to returning already.

What a lovely experience at this restaurant. The food was incredible. Best staff ever! Shout out to Elroy who created his own options for possible upcoming bride and groom signature wedding cocktails. Very talented and thoughtful! All bar staff should be commended for their service.
The food tasting for our upcoming wedding on property was spectacular! Shout out to Tiffany and Maura for a beautiful experience!
See you in a month. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderful few days.

We are staying at the Inn and have had four meals at the restaurant/pub since we arrived yesterday (dinner last night, breakfast this morning, lunch, and then dinner this evening). I can say after 4 meals here that the dedication of the team working here is unbelievable. The food is prepared with skill and passion and the team executing everything from sitting you, preparing the space, tending to your needs, and above all – adding their own personality – is perfect . When I say perfect, does that mean that there are no issues that may pop up here and there? Of course not. Everyone’s favortie restaurant, pub inn, hotel, doctor, mechanic, etc. will have a snag here and there. But it is the best of the best that have a snag along the way and make it amazing regardless.
Passion is one of the best qualities and this pub (and the Inn) clearly show they are passionate about getting it right. Not many can say they do that, and do it as well as I have seen these folks do it.
Love this place. Honored to eat here and support what these folks are doing.
Wish I had a spot as good as this back in Boston.
Love it ❤️!

Stopped in for an adult beverage on a Friday afternoon. Bartender (male) was unfriendly, did not interact at all (we were the only 2 people at the bar and just 1 table of 4 ladies eating late lunch) and clearly could have cared less about his job or customers.

We were treated to a 3 course meal with wine pairings, which was lovely. The mussels in tomato, garlic cream broth were delicious. The beet and arugula salad was amazing. The baked lobster and Jamaican dish were both very good. Blueberry pie and chocolate torte were the best ever. Tian was our server and deserves praise for his good spirit in assisting us in our meal and drink selections, as well as his close but unobtrusive attention to our needs.

Best place to eat in Southport hands down. Always get the lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder. It is the best lobster roll in Maine! The views are incredible and always talk a walk down by the water. Always a must when in town. Never has been overly crowded so service is always fast when we go in.

My husband and I ate at the Newagen Inn last Thursday night and we were underwhelmed with the overall experience. This pub is located inside a hotel that is on the water in Southport, and it has beautiful views of the surrounding area. We had made a reservation ahead of time, and when we arrived were given a seat right next to the service station/bar. We asked if it would be possible to move to another location (there were several other open tables) but we were told they were all taken. (Note: most of these tables did not become occupied during our visit). Like many restaurants we visited during our vacation in Maine, it seemed the pub was short staffed, but our biggest concern was really the lack of warmth or attentiveness of the staff. The staff took our orders, delivered the food but there was no personality at all! We would have received the same level of service if we ordered from a kiosk. Once a course was delivered to our table, the serve never asked how it was, or checked in to see if anything else was needed. When the next course arrived, not all of the dishes were cleared off the table from the previous course. My husband had the shrimp cacio e pepe dish, which was delicious. I ordered the hot lobster roll with butter, and was sort of underwhelmed. It was not a huge portion of lobster, and the homemade potato chips were overcooked and hard. For dessert we ordered the sticky toffee pudding and initially the wrong dessert was delivered. Eventually we got the right dessert but it barely resembled other sticky toffee puddings I’ve had, and it was wayyyyy too sweet and we couldn’t finish it. While we were there a woman set up to play the guitar and sing in the lounge area. She had a nice voice, but the whole time she was playing she was looking at her iPad screen, and never once acknowledged the people in the restaurant or tried to “connect”, and it was a bit too loud to be able to have conversation while she played. I really wanted to love this restaurant but in the end was disappointed.

We went over by boat for lunch. Newagen Harbor is a bit tricky to navigate, but we had the dock to ourselves. Lunch was great. Service was great too. Dog friendly on the outside deck where we ate. A great afternoon outing at a beautiful spot.
