Retro steakhouse firing up charcoal-grilled meats from an open hearth in a castlelike space.

This was my first visit to The Pub. The food was mediocre at best. It started out with a very nice salad bar which my table of 6 seemed to enjoy, but when the entrees arrived the faces were not smiling in satisfaction. I was extremely disappointed in the $75 Fishermen’s Wharf seafood dish for two. All the seafood was over cooked and rubbery. It was not good at all. The best part was the sides of a double stuffed potato. The rack of spare ribs were horrible as well. The ribs were very tough and dry. We went out to celebrate the birthday’s of 2 people in our party and this was not what we expected. My son ordered the pork chops and enjoyed his dish. My husband ordered Deep fried stuffed shrimp and said they were just okay with no flavor. I suppose our party made a mistake by not ordering a steak. The steak dinners seem to get good reviews, but I would avoid wasting your money on the seafood. The portions were large and the appearance was nice but the food dry & over cooked. The seafood definitely appeared to be under the heat lamp way too long. The dinners were dumped off by the waitress who never returned to see if anything was okay. We had to flag her down to get our check with minimal people in the restaurant from 3-4:30 PM on Saturday. We watched her literally just standing while our table could have used her assistance. We had to wave her down to get the bill and wake her up from her daze. First time here and probably my last. I am not sure the 25 min drive was worth what was served. Disappointed Birthday dinners.

The server was great and very attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not what I remember this place being known for. My parents used to come here years ago, and the quality seems to have declined.
I ordered the BBQ chicken and ribs, and both were extremely overcooked and dry—almost like jerky. It was very disappointing. I rarely leave unfavorable reviews, as you can see from my history, but this is definitely a dish I would recommend avoiding.
The salad bar was just okay, but only one side of it was open, which limited the options.
What concerned me the most was observing one of the chefs in the open prep area eating bread while working. I did not see gloves being worn during food preparation, and he was eating, drinking water, and continuing to prep food. That raised some hygiene concerns for me.
The check came as a peice of paper no folder, ugh.
I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because this place clearly has a history and reputation that many people remember fondly.

It was our first time eating at The Pub, and even before going in, I already knew it was popular because there were already a lot of cars outside even before they opened at 3:00 PM.
Once we got inside, we were seated right away, but just a few minutes later, the place started to get crowded, and soon people were already waiting to be seated.
From the outside, the place looks just so-so, but once you get inside, it’s beautiful with a Christmasy vibe…warm, festive, and very inviting.
I ordered the salmon, which was just so-so, but the steak my friend ordered was really good, tender and delicious. My other friends who been there many times also enjoyed their food, which made the experience even better.
The servers were great, very attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was awesome, lively and enjoyable. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d definitely come back to try other dishes.

First visit to The Pub to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. Outstanding in every way. Service, Food, Atmosphere were just great. Enjoyed delicious prime rib and the Chesapeake Chicken. The salad bar has great variety and was very fresh. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a great dinner at The Pub, Saturday evening.
Janis, our waitress was wonderful !
My wife had the Caesar salad and said it “was as good as it always is”..I enjoyed several items on the abundant salad bar. We opted for a loaf of their warm loaf of bread.. and both of us enjoyed their Surf & Turf(medium rare) . I had ordered a baked potato, yet Janis brought mashed however immediately noticed it and brought the baked potato.
Everything was delicious, just like we remembered it to be. The filet melted in your mouth, the lobster tail cooked perfectly and delicious. Forgot to mention, we enjoyed the cold/crisp shrimp cocktail. Definitely a great evening!

The food quality was excellent with rich flavors in every bite. Service felt professional, quick, truly welcoming. This place is a great choice if you are visiting New Jersey. I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Spent Thanksgiving here with a party of 4. Got the Thanksgiving Special which was Roasted Turkey with gravy, stuffing, candied sweet potato and green beans. It came with cream of mushroom soup, the salad bar, and a slice of pumpkin pie all for $39.95. We didn’t have to make a reservation (called earlier in the week and they said only accepting walk ins) and our wait at dinner time was 45-60 mins. We sat at the bar and barely got to finish our drink by the time we were seated. The whole bar smelled like chocolate cake, it was incredible! We found out why, they had a Yankee Candle going.
The place is huge and the food is delicious. The cream of mushroom soup was soo flavorful and had huge pieces of mushroom in it. The turkey wasn’t dry and had tons of gravy. The stuffing was yummy and I think it had pecans in it, which I never had before, but loved. The candied sweet potato was perfect!
Would definitely recommend The Pub and especially for your Thanksgiving dinner!

My family has been loving The Pub for more than 50 years. Dad first took us as they were a client, and between the delicious meals, fantastic salad bar, chefs cooking on open hearths, eleant meal service from portable hibachi, tudor theme including suits of armor… it remains a favorite for four generations.

Our server Chrissy she was great! Very attentive and made great suggestions. The food was “Old School” amazing!!! As it always was since I was a Kid. The salad bar is the same…. Totally the best ceasar salad ever! And the big loaf of fresh hot bread they bring out The snapper soup was another old school favorite of mine and they did it right! I tried seafood for the first time here. I always ordered porter house or prime rib but decided on the crab stuffed salmon and it was an enormous portion with fresh green beans and twice baked potato. My wife ordered South west chicken and that was a great flavor!
Then Desert… chocolate fudge for her and the carrot cake to go of course. But we snuck a couple bites before departing. The old school background music paired nicely with the never changing decor which screams wonderful atmosphere. There is nothing place like The Pub!

We went as a party of 6 and 5 of us have never been! It EXCEEDED all of our expectations! Our incredible waitress Marci made the whole experience that much better! The food was amazing – delicious, large portions, and the prices, while high, reflected the portion sizes and quality of food. We tried snapper soup for the first time ever as Marci asked us to try it and we will for sure be getting a full serving of that on our next visit! The dessert was just chef’s kiss!! Death by chocolate cake, carrot cake, and crème brûlée cheesecake all were made to perfection!! And omg I can’t forget about the drinks!! I had a couple Caramel Apple martinis and mom had a chocolate martini! They came with a sidecar each and tasted incredible!! And finally, in true Philly sports fan fashion, we sang the Eagles Fight song in prep for today’s game! Go birds! We can’t wait to go back to The Pub!!
