The best dining experience in town for me in Nantucket. My girlfriend and I had a great laugh chatting in the relaxing environment. I strongly recommend a visit here with loved ones. The staff were extremely friendly. They helped me understand the menu and patiently explain the dishes to me. I was amazed by the creativity of the menu. I loved the arctic char salmon so much that I even licked the plate, not even mentioning how it was well-represented!! We had a great time sitting outside while enjoying the ambiance outdoors. It is definitely a great memory for us.

Have visited props several times across the years when I have been on Nantucket. They have consistently delivered and I find it refreshing to discover a new menu each season but which carries through the same feeling and quality. I live in London and for this level of food (mouth wateringly, lick the plate good) and the source of the ingredients (local, prepped on site) the prices are in line with major cities.

Cocktails maybe over-rated. We had the Chai Chai Slide and the Notorious at the bar. Both cocktails were simply dispensed out of bottles that presumably contained the ready made drink. No fuzz or presentation. Meh.

Do not bring your kids here for dinner – they charge full price. This is the quintessential expensive Nantucket restaurant experience, for better and for worse. The food is very good – the sweet potatoes were a surprise hit at our table and the cavatelli pasta is exceptional – but these portion sizes are just too small and the price point is too high to recommend.

Was seated on the second floor which had really nice vibe. All the plates were unique and vintage which were beautiful.

Unique dining experience. Gourmet flavored food. NOT your traditional dining place. If you are open to try something new and discover new flavors that is your place. Every season menu changes. Drinks are good. Staff is aways friendly. This season menu is mostly vegetable based. As a meat lover i was open to try different veggie options. Be open minded. Menu is definitely better than last summer. Prices are high I guess something normal for downtown Nantucket restaurant experience.

Dishes were plenty flavorful, however the portions were abysmal. Even the “full size” entrees were not enough to leave you satiated. For the price they charge the portions should be proportional. The pretzel rolls were essentially four one-bite pieces of bread and they charged $30+.. the restaurant ambience was the best part of the experience. Won’t be back for dinner but would return for drinks at the bar.

This is perhaps THE most overrated restaurant in Nantucket. The menu is small and idiosyncratic. We had sliced duck, fried green tomatoes, and fried fish. Every dish was bland. When the server asked how we liked things, we told her “not very much,”, she said, “Sorry,” and that was that. No manager ever appeared to talk to us, nothing was done about the bill. The food is simply and totally average at best. Save your money, it’s very expensive (as are all restaurants here). This review is from our dinner tonight.

2023, 3 stars: Proprietors has lost most of what made it great 2 years ago. Instead of having small plates of phenomenal food, they now have tiny plates of off-the-wall food. It’s good but drastically overpriced and undersized. $28 for 4 golf ball sized rolls and 6 thin slices of duck breast. Are you kidding me? We had a good selection off the menu and each plate left us more befuddled than the one before. The lamb belly was practically shaved. The sweet potatoes were great but it’s not like they were drowned in caviar vs their price point. Feels too much like they’re trying to earn a Michelin star and missing the mark.

Delicious and creative dishes! Our Server was wonderful. The atmosphere is so charming. We loved our meal and specialty cocktails- scallion pancakes were my favorite. Very unique ingredient combos, farm to table with a hip vintage vibe. we ordered several small plates each to share- fresh vegetables and herbs, cool combos of textures and flavors, delish sauces. Such a great experience. impeccable food and service! Will return.
