Me and the wife disappeared for the weekend to a cabin in Telico Plains, and decided to stop for some grub on our way to the cabin.
Man, this was an awesome choice to try on a whim.
Beth, the owner, was absolutely fabulous. The vibe of the place is relaxing, the service is upbeat, and the grub is exceptionally fabulous. Nikki and Macy were awesome, and Beth’s husband Rob who runs the Mash & Hops pub next door was great to talk with.
So Meg got the spinch artichoke dip, I had the chopped BLT, and we tried out one if their mega meatballs along wuth several beers from the Madh & Hops.
Damn good dinner.
So damn good, we stopped in Sunday fir brunch on our way back, because Beth had just started serving tomato gravy.
Omfg, this was some of the best tomato gravy I’ve ever had.
So meg got the spinich quich, and I scored the breakfast casserole (eggs, cheese, biscuit, sausage) for bunch smothered in tomato gravy.
Let me tell you what….
Fat boy was freaking happy, and man did she knock it out of the park.
Well worth stopping in. Easy side trek if you’re heading to ride the Dragon or Cherahola Skyway. And If you do stop in, tell her Hillbilly sent ya.

The atmosphere was okay. Unfortunately, they didn’t know much about the wines they serve. The owner was very short with the customers and seemed really annoyed by questions about the food or drinks. And then there was the gentleman than asked for help finding a chair. She turned around walked away and then was behind the bar complaining. Her exact words said were, “…find your own chair.” She didn’t like that the patio had filled up.
Beware, the prices charged are not always what’s on the menu. She handed us our check and walked away so fast I couldn’t say anything.
Although, if I were dishonest I could have lied about the wines we ordered since they weren’t on our tab.
Definitely won’t be going back.

This is a great gastropub in Cleveland, they have a big selection of wines, etc, and I loved the food we ordered. However, I thought it was overpriced. We had a great time during trivia night there though!

Tonight finally seemed like the perfect night to wander down to this adorable wine bar and check it out. I can’t even begin to tell you how phenomenal my experience was.
Upon entering, the patrons, the bartender and owner were incredibly friendly. Everyone in there seemed like regulars. They discussed the drinks with me, the food, and the events they have ongoing. I felt beyond welcome and appreciated.
I ordered the Mash and Hops, which seems to be adorably named after the beer establishment connected to The Press (this was also phenomenal and I will be leaving a separate review). To be clear for other patrons, you can’t bring your wine over to the beer side but you can bring your beer from the beer establishment to the wine side despite that they share the same patio. Just a good thing to know.
By the time I went over to order a beer, I came out and this delicious platter of salami, cheese, mustard, and warm pretzels with melted cheese was placed in front of me. It was so delicious and filling I couldn’t even finish it. It was also gorgeously plated.
I chose to sit outside on the patio. The inside was warm, cozy and super inviting. It will be wonderful in the winter. While sitting and enjoying the food and drink, members of the community came over and sat with me, introducing themselves. I can’t tell you how special that was for me. I was truly floored by the generosity of the people who own this place and patron this place regularly. I moved from Chattanooga to Cleveland last year and I really feel a sense of connection and belonging. This establishment made me feel a connection I have not felt in the longest time.
I can’t even wait to try brunch here. This will surely be my local go-to spot for food, connection, and delicious drinks.

This was a great find!! The service was personal and timely. Personnel go out of their way to assist you. It’s a true wine bar with multiple wine and beer selections. It’s a small menu with large and delicious portions. Beth,owner, is personable and knows what her customers want in food and drink. Prices are unbelievably reasonable. When you are in Cleveland TN this is a must for food. I did a dinner but the claim to fame is the weekend brunch with menu items you haven’t seen or eaten in awhile.
