It started out good enough… no wait to be seated, table by a window overlooking the river and a waitress immediately taking drink and appetizer orders. The fried mushrooms came out spectacular and very generous. Then she took the main course orders.

Found this place by watching Elder Eats. Finally after two years , I finally came to eat here with friends. We loved it. The food was delicious and the view is amazing. It was so cool to see the history of the power plant. Especially when you are enjoying a nice cold beer.

This place is beautiful, but, I had the worst luck and experience here. We made the long drive to this place after seeing it had been given good reviews on The Day Tripper. A 35min wait for 4 people, with empty tables visible all over. The host’s excuse was that they were short staffed, but 4 servers were actively working the floor. The interior was absolutely uncomfortably hot, but very beautiful and laid out well (seen in pics). When we were seated at a table and waited on, the waiter was very friendly. We went totally unheard, many times, as he passed by to other tables. Drinks went unfilled for long periods of time. We later noticed that many of the wait staff here were wearing ear buds, so that could be the reason we went unheard. After the food arrived, it got worse. One of the Chicken Fried Steaks were very noticeably overcooked, and my daughter had pulled 4 gathered strands of long, black hair from her Mac & Cheese bowl. Again, after not being heard for the 3rd attempt to get the wait staff’s attention, I got up and walked both plates over to the kitchen entrance where the wait staff was gathered and cutting up, and showed them that this was not satisfactory whatsoever and asked if we could have it fixed again. They apologized and said they’d handle it. 10min later, the waiter came to the table to inform us that we’d not have pay for those two plates, and they’d cook up another chicken fried steak and grab another bowl of Mac & Cheese. After 20min, I ended up splitting my own Chicken Fried Steak plate with my wife. By this point my daughter had lost her appetite for the Mac & Cheese. They brought out the new steak and we asked for our check and a to-go box.

My Daughter and I ate lunch here after visiting a few nearby parks last Sunday. It was the first time we ate here, and we thought the food was seasoned well, delicious, and reasonably priced! We made a reservation the day before, because some reviews mentioned wait times. Our server, Miss Cadence K., was very friendly and attentive! I loved the display of equipment from the Powerplant as a part of the historic decor. The views outside of the restaurant were very lovely! We had our meal in the restaurant, but there is also a covered eating area outside. We enjoyed this unique experience, and will definitely return!

Really fun place along the river. We had the salmon and meatloaf. Both were cooked well. The true star was the Frog Dip aka queso. It was delicious. They have a large bar selection, but the best part are the views. Outdoor and indoor seating, catwalk, and a fun pump room with tables and chairs directly over the falls. We enjoyed watching the turtles and birds so make sure you get a table with a view.

We were on our way to San Antonio for a little vacation and needed a pit stop for lunch. I had already been to the power plant earlier in the year on the way home from another trip. I wanted my family to see this place, because I already knew how cool it was.

We had to wait an inordinate length of time for seating and service, which detracted from the experience. I’m not sure if they were just having a staff shortage because there were open tables inside and outside, but they advised us it would be a forty five minute wait for a table that turned into 1 1/2 hour wait. The plus side of that wait is the atmosphere, and the grounds are a fun place to wander as the restaurant is converted from an old power plant. The food was good, but it’s mostly of the fried or burger variety. The onion rings and mushroom appetizer are large enough for 4 people. We enjoyed our visit but the 2 1/2 hours we were there was too much of a time investment. I would give them a try again if I’m back in the area but if they say there’s a wait, I might try other local options.

The place was very warm, we were sweating waiting for our server to come. It took over 25 minutes for any server to come to our table. She apologized but the manager needs to be watching to make sure people are getting served in a timely manner. The drinks and appetizers took almost that long to come out as well and the chips and queso took longer. The mushrooms appetizers tasted ok but were slightly cold inside. Make sure to stick to their burgers, they were the better choice as the brisket and sausage were extremely dry . Stick to the burgers. It was ok to try once, but I more than likely will not return and would not recommend to friends.

At first the hostess was acting put out because we asked to change seats. After I explained about Doris’s vision she was accommodating. However, when I was working in food services the customer’s satisfaction was priority. The irritated look almost made me turn around and leave. But from that point on it was wonderful. The food is incredible and very large portions.
