Low reviews for being one of the best restaurants in Brighton, MI! The upstairs service could use a little more training, but The POUND has the best kitchen crew around! All 5 stars go to the cooks in the back. 5 stars on presentation too!
Order:
Cheeseburger with Avocado.

The food was great! I had the club sandwich and I can admit I thought it was a bit overpriced but paired with the sweet potato fries, totally worth it! I love sweet potato fries, and these might be the best I’ve ever had! They were SO crispy and perfect! The sandwich was also very good but not anything stellar, a spicy mayo option would have been nice, or add avocado or something. We also had the cinnamon bread sticks…oh man I could eat those until I explode, they were perfect consistency and not super sugary, could use a dipping cup of icing to go with them but they are still excellent. My boyfriend had the chicken bacon ranch foldover, it was pretty great as well. We only end up in Brighton once a week and I think this might be our new favorite restaurant, bonus that it has rooftop, and outdoor seating, love that! The service was also good. We went about 9:30 at night so it wasn’t super busy. It’s seems that all the restaurants in Bright close by 10 pm so it was nice to find one open a little later.

Was there on Halloween night. Went to order my first drink- Simply asked the bartender if they had Yuengling and she responded “no, when you figure out what you want let me know”, and quickly walked away. I was going to order a Modelo, and she then kept skipping over me & ignoring me when I said “excuse me”. Then she turned around and gave me the finger and then said something to the security guy. Next thing I know the security guy tells me I have to leave. I asked to speak to the manager. When I was speaking to him about it there was an independent neutral bystander who was standing behind me when this all happened. She emphatically told the manager that she saw the whole thing and the bartender was extremely rude & mean to me and that I did absolutely nothing wrong. Any reasonable human being with a shred of intelligence would obviously listen to a neutral non-biased customer witness who didn’t know the bartender or myself. But, obviously this manager is also unreasonable with low intellect as he completely ignored what the neutral customer witness said and still told me I had to leave. Therefore, I will never return to place again as they have horrible service and a rude staff. I have informed all my friends and coworkers of what happened so they never go back here again. We were planning to celebrate my father’s upcoming birthday with a surprise party at The Pound and we will now be celebrating it somewhere else that has a pleasant staff. We will also not be holding our fantasy football draft at The Pound anymore either. They just lost a lot of business!

Arrived there on a Sunday about 1 PM. The upstairs patio was closed and the place was pretty empty and there was only a few people at the bar. The hostess met us at the door and sat us quickly in a booth. The waitress came over, and she was very polite and friendly. We ended up getting the pretzel sticks that I did not get a picture of that came with a white cheese sauce, which was very good and we also ordered a few drinks.
I ordered the pound burger and we also got a meat lovers pizza. The pizza was just OK, and no complaints from my 10 year old but I thought it was pretty doughy. The burger was decent, but it had a signature sauce on it that was very strange. It wasn’t bad but it had like a mayonnaise, mustard chipotle taste to it. I would suggest to get that sauce on the side and try it before. It’s already on the burger. We also got a chicken Caesar wrap that I did not get a picture of and that was also just OK. It was not a bad experience, but nothing that would make me want to come back and spend the money. In total with tip it was about $90 for lunch.

Excellent place to dine in Brighton! All the better that their patio is super pet friendly and great for dogs! Food is excellent, drinks are stellar and the staff is very friendly. Service is also very fast. Easy to park and get to even with the massive construction project, just park in the public lot behind Jezebels.

Greeted at the door with a genuine smile. I could tell Hope, our server, enjoys her job. Bubbly, informative, and very attentive, Hope made me feel welcome. The food was very good. The place was clean and well lit without overdoing it. Plenty TV’s for sports. I’d go back with a smile. In case I didn’t make it clear, Hope is a great server with a very good attitude.

We waited 50 minutes for a quesodilla and a slim Jim sandwich. The waitress was standing around, checking her phone and talking with thr other waitresses. Thru food was ok. There is no way it took 50 minutes to make our food. She never asked if we needed a drink refill. A very disappointing experience because we were hungry when we got there. Will not return.

Server spilled a large glass of pop on my niece and just stood there. She said “sorry” and stared. My niece was obviously upset as herself and her purse was DRENCHED in sticky soda. We went to the bathroom to clean up and when we came back we switched tables as the waitress never came back to clean up the mess. Best part? The pop was flat. I had to ask for a lemonade.
Then when taking our order, there was a “build your own burger” section and I asked if they had Turkey burgers. She said they do on their normal menu but it wasn’t on the menu. I asked her if she could go ask the kitchen if I could do a build my own with a Turkey burger and she said no. She wouldn’t even go ask for me and couldn’t tell me a good reason why if they serve Turkey burgers every day I couldn’t get one.
The food took awhile to come but once it did the Turkey club sandwhich was good. Of course I’m glad we didn’t have any issues as the waitress didn’t come check on us again until we were more than halfway done with our food.
Overall the service was the worst I’ve had in a long time. I was a server for many years and would have immediately jumped Into action to try and help clean up the spill pop and be apologizing for profusely. Wish I could have tried the Turkey burger but I don’t think I’ll be returning to give it a try in the future.

2.67/5 There’s a first for everything and unfortunately, Pound! manages to earn the title for most disappointing spot on Main St. Very unlike the other restaurants in this area. Southwest egg rolls are the only part I can give credit. To call my entree “Caribbean Jerk Chicken” is an absolute disgrace. Not only did this taste like the kind of chicken stir fry you get at a cheap takeout restaurant, but it was worse. Experienced major buyer’s remorse over this and won’t return. Stick to the basic stuff like fries and sandwiches or you’ll be doomed.

Positive: location and rooftop dining and bar.
Negative: A place like this should have a great burger… especially for $16. Mine was not very good. I ordered it medium and it was served very well done. The egg, on the top, was overcooked as well.
My wife got a chicken wrap and said it was just ok.
