Great barbecue place. Beef brisket was moist and tender and not greasy. Only critique is the smoke is a little too much. A little overpowering. Over all very good. Hash was good. Kinda sweet and very meaty. Smoked chicken was moist and delicious but a bit strong on the smoke to but nothing really to complain about.

We recently moved to Aiken and found this amazing BBQ place! I am not exaggerating when I say we have eaten here 5 times in 2 weeks. We ate dinner here twice and picked up brisket sandwiches for lunch on 3 separate days. Their BBQ is wonderful. It is tender, juicy, smoky and soooo tasty! Their ribs literally fall off of the bone, and their brisket melts in your mouth. You also want to try their Loaded Baked Potato Salad…..It is ridiculously good. So far, this is our favorite BBQ restaurant in South Carolina. By the way….ask for the Kickin’ Butt Spicy Sauce…it’s the best!

Was not a good experience. The pulled pork was more copped/mushy not much taste at all. The brisket was over cooked and had hardly any smoke ring. The Mac and cheese had some sort of bread filling in it that just wasn’t good at all. I did enjoy the loaded potato salad and the tea. The desert was definitely from a prepackaged cake not home made and was dry. I threw away a lot of meat!!!! And it wasn’t cheap!!
Update10/30/23 well I guess Pot Smokers doesn’t like hearing the truth! Just look at the comments on any negative reviews. I guess they don’t look at the pictures people post to prove the negative experience they had. Oh just for reference I’m a senior BBQ judge that has judged just a few BBQ competitions so i might know what I’m talking about!

Living in today
We ordered 2 half chicken combos for two of the kids, both were bloody around the bones. The chicken was overall undercooked. The skin was stretchy.There was enough blood to bleed onto the meat. I got the ribs and pulled pork meal. The pulled pork was good but a little dry. Make sure to use the yummy sauces to help with the dryness of the pulled pork. The ribs were also dry and did not “bite” well. I also did not care for the rub on the ribs either. Husband got the brisket, he didn’t eat it. He said it was very dry. He said that when he chewed the meat it felt gummy in his mouth. Maybe there wasn’t enough marble in the meat? The all beef hotdog was a hot with my son. He ate the whole thing. The 3 sauces were very good.. the spicy one was just the right amount of heat. The mustardy sauce was kinda tangy. I really enjoyed the tang. I did not try the sweet BBQ sauce but my youngest ones gave a thumbs up and asked for more.

Starving and tired the intoxicating smell of the smoker out front welcomed us as we walked in. The food arrived fast and looked incredible!! A hush fell over the table as we devoured our food not even looking up. The brisket was incredible and the fries 10 out of 10!! My husband had the ribs and pulled pork and he couldn’t pick his favorite!! The sauces were definitely on point. We finished our meal off with delicious cake. We left fat and happy. This will be my go to lunch spot in Aiken. Thank you!!!

I’m giving this place 5 stars because it was that good and I didn’t feel that 4 stars was enough justice for the friendly staff and amazing tasting food. I debated giving this place 4 stars only because they ran out of the ribs before I could try them. So, with that being said, if you want ribs get here before 6:00pm. (I’ll be back to try them)
I had the pulled pork, beef brisket, mac and cheese, and loaded potato salad, and pecan pie.
The meat was perfectly smoked and seasoned and not dry at all. The BBQ sauce wasn’t needed, although if you add it, it will add that sweet flavor you might be looking for. But, I suggest you try the meet “dry” first. The serving size was surprisingly large, bigger than most places around here.
The Mac cheese was cheesy with an extra layer of cheese baked on top. It complemented the meat very well.
The potato salad was impressive. The shredded bacon (not bacon bits) was an awesome addition. I could definitely eat that again, and I don’t normally get potato salad!
If my Grandma’s pecan pie wasn’t the best, Pot Smokers would win that position.

Pot smokers is in my neighborhood, but is relatively new to me. I’ve had the same thing all 3 times I’ve been which is the brisket, mac and cheese with baked beans. The brisket is amazing, the sides are good. The beans don’t seem to be as consistent as the other 2 items but still good. I would definitely recommend Pot Smokers! Staff has been friendly and polite on all 3 visits. This part of my review is at my 8th visit. So like an addict I’ve been chasing that first time meal I had here and nothing has been consistent not even the brisket portions. I purchased a Groupon for Pot Smokers and presented it, it’s like the found the smallest piece of chicken and the brisket portion was way off which was 3 pieces, 2 being very small. Mac & cheese at its driest. Pot Smokers isn’t super expensive, but isn’t cheap either and the portions could be a little better. I think today was my last visit after 8 tries in 2.5 months. Today I also got a brisket sandwich to go I get home and open it and it’s three pieces of brisket on that as well pretty thick cut so I’m assuming they weigh the portions but this is not how you put a sandwich together. When it comes to a restaurant I want to know that every time I go that I’m going to get the same meal that I had the first time that made me want to come back. Consistency is everything with a restaurant give me what made me come back the second thru 8th visit. I hope ya’ll get it together soon, food service industry is going down all around even restaurants that have been around for 20+ years are shutting down and filing bankruptcy.
