I really enjoyed my visit tonight to The Port of Peri Peri Schaumburg and will be back soon to eat in and order takeout – the food I ordered was delicious, there was speedy and friendly service, and the setup for dining in was especially comfortable and clean. I was pleasantly surprised to find sturdy metal flatware at the tables, including larger steak knives to cut thicker textured food like cuts of meat, since a lot of places that offer counter service usually only have plastic utensils to offer at best. There are also napkins and salt & pepper at the tables; if you order food and request it, there are also tasty chili & garlic sauces that you can add to your liking.
The food I got came in generous portion sizes. I will have more than enough for lunch tomorrow and probably enough to share with my husband. The lemon herb chicken & rice came with 4 large, boneless, well-trimmed from fat & gristle pieces of juicy chicken that was cooked to have a nice char on the outside without being burnt and had a lot of the lemon sauce. The rice was fluffy and complemented the chicken well. I also ordered peri cassava fries which were crisp on the outside and cooked through without being mushy on the inside. There are canned Coke drinks available along with Joe teas, I ordered a Sprite with my meal and also ordered an Adeni Chai with sugar to go near the end of my meal. It’s not pictured but perfect – not too sweet and a good balance of spices. It comes very hot in a well insulated to go coffee cup, so take the lid off to vent it if you want to drink it sooner. It would be nice to take with after a meal on a cold day – sipping it feels like a warm hug

It’s right off Roselle Road, so it’s super convenient between showings or errands. The chicken wraps are always fresh and packed with flavor, and I love customizing them with their different sauces, the medium peri-peri is my favorite! Service is fast, the staff is friendly, and it’s consistently clean. Definitely one of the best casual spots in the area.

Portions are nothing close to what they use to be. I ordered 2 leg quarters because that is what my husband and I typically order. The sizes were like half the size of your typical leg quarter to the point where I feel like we almost needed to order 4. The portions were all so much smaller than before but prices were still just as high about $30 for 2 leg quarters the size of a drumstick is absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention they messed up on my order and couldn’t even get through to speak to anyone there. Never ordering from here again.

Food was amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly. So were the casava fries. The staff went above and beyond by making some plain fries for the toddler we had who wouldn’t eat the casava fries. The 1/4 leg was great the sauce is heavenly. Wish they had a wash area cus your hands get messy eating that greasy food. Also not enough seating capacity. No child benches either. Lots of parking. Definitely recommended.

Eating out gets boring with little choice around the area. But Juicy chicken in Porto’s makes me keep coming back again and again. Me and my family love the chicken here with the medium sauce on it. Nice ambiance and the food is yum and delicious with juicy, tender chicken hot out of the grill, with a finishing touch with the cheese cake, makes us come back here often. My kids want to keep coming back. Place for one of the best Portuguese food.

I decided to try this place out because I really love Nando’s but we don’t have one by me. The chicken at this place is as good or better than Nando’s. The only thing is that I don’t think the sides are as good. But that’s fine since the chicken is the most important thing. I definitely recommend this place.
