Well. Here it is. The BEST neighborhood bar in Providence. Im not kidding. There are dozens of excellent bars and restaurants in Providence. And I will tell you about all of them in good time- but Point Tavern is where you go when you want to be in good company and have a good time.
Im not originally from Rhode Island and I have struggled to understand the lack of bar culture here. But Point Tavern has restored my belief that… everyone loves a good bar.
A bar is a sacred place where you go to feel good, feel familiar and amongst friends.
That’s what Point Tavern has to offer. The LOVELIEST, most wonderful bartender Derrick, an excellent (way above average) bar fare made lovingly (yes I can taste the love).
The dry rub wings are excellent. Truly. I also want to give a shout out to the hummus dish- this is clearly homemade and has pickled collard greens on the side… just sayin.
I cannot say enough about what a warm and inviting space this is. The music is always good- the backyard is lovely for summer evening drinks and dogs, the bar is always cozy with gentle banter and excellent hosting by the staff. I love this place.
Ten thousand stars.
Oh yeah- I almost forgot. So, they serve breakfast sandwiches here after 10 pm until close.
Besides that this is necessary- It is brilliant, and quite frankly and important public service.

Let me Preface this with, I am not from RI but know that RI has some really good food, for my personal preference, this was not one of them. So when arriving, you have to find street parking, for a Saturday night approx 800pm in the city it was a breeze. When you walk in, its seat yourself and someone will greet you eventually. Our server came around after approx 5mins. I wasn’t too impressed with the drink menu, not sure if it was b/c of seasonal cocktails being featured, but when in doubt.. go with tequila. 😉 when we got our drinks they were pretty tasty but seemed to be alcohol lacking, nonetheless we scoured the menu to find some food. We decided on the creole crab cakes, wings, and cornbread. The latter was the star of the show, it came with a honey butter and tomato jam on the side. The tomato jam was ok but the honey butter over the cornbread was divine. It was soft with crispy edges and moist. The wings, we could have done without. We ordered the buffalo lemon pepper and they came out with a dry rub and lemon pepper sauce in a condiment cup on the side. -_- they were tender but definitely lacking in flavor. A huge disappointment as the pictures and reviews really bigged them up. Lastly, the creole crab cakes. They had a nice texture but idk where the crab was. I definitely got some bites of the chopped shrimp and sausage but the flaky crab I was looking for seemed to be missing. Our second round of drinks (not pictured) were a margarita and tequila lemon drop. Both were bleh, lacking in taste/flavor. Overall I probs wouldn’t return unfortunately but the music was jumping, the good tunes were the saving grace of the evening.

This is by far my favorite bar in providence! The ambiance is amazing and cozy. The bartender is so friendly and makes you feel like home. The food is yummy with so many options to pick from. Definitely will keep coming here.

The Point Tavern is bar far my favorite bar in Providence! They have incredible food, my favorites are the chopped cheese and Mac and cheese-both are delicious! They also have great specials throughout the week and are an amazing neighborhood bar who often shows fun movies on Mondays! Derrick the bar manger is amazing!

Listen if your looking for a great relaxing night out great food The point tavern is the place to be. Either if it’s on the weekend or during the week you can’t go wrong. From the drinks to the food one of the best places I have been to in a long time. Service is beyond amazing. The bartenders are amazing it’s just very welcoming very clean I highly recommend this place to all. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in RI but The point tavern is my go to. I love Wednesday nights very relaxing from great drinks and service from the bartender Ahmad just one of the best he’s very welcoming, once you walk in until you walk out they also have trivia on Wednesday which I love as well. If you go tell them Dwayne sent you. Enjoy Thank me later.

I took my bf here & it was both our first time here. The place itself is really cute & had a good vibe to it. The food was 10/10 we honestly haven’t stopped talking about this place since we’ve been. We had the chicken wings, French onion dip, cheeseburgers & the cornbread. All were amazing! Also I had the best espresso martini & lemon drop martini I’ve ever had. I don’t remember the bartenders name but he was great very attentive & made excellent drinks

It’s literally amazing vibes: from the bartenders (Ahmad, Kaelyn) who are so warm and fun, to the music which sounds exactly like my damn Spotify playlist to the other random patrons who make it so fun, it’s a V I B E everyone should experience.

Stopped by for a quick bite and it did not disappoint. The wings were amazing and I loved the fried chicken sandwich. So tasty. Service was slow but they had a sick call out so definitely understandable. The place can be loud but it is a bar. You would be remiss in not stopping
