-Ordered from 80 twenty Burgers. Double Smash had great taste, but small portion for $14. No wait time.
-Ordered from Taqueria Hidalgo del Rio. 60 minute wait for 6 tacos. But good tacos once we got them.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This place confuses energy with chaos. The “open-concept” layout traps and bounces every sound, while the music blasts past 85 decibels a level that’s unsafe for children and unbearable for anyone trying to enjoy a meal. I had to shout just to place my order and ended up taking my food to go just to escape the noise. This isn’t a restaurant it’s a sound trap with food on the side. Not family-friendly, not relaxing, and absolutely not worth your time or money.
1. 80/20 burgers were amazing and service was on point.
2. Pizza guy, very passionate and great service, very good pizza.
3. McAllen Dog Co was humble and the food was also pleasant
4. Con sabor de Mexico was mid, but maybe we ordered the wrong thing, agua Fresca was delicious.
5. Taqueria Hidalgo(the green one) was a waste of money. Tacos were dry and flavorles, definitely wouldn’t recommend that place. Owners or managers are very friendly and treat you well.
We were not able to try the bar nor the other 2 food truck that had wings and I think BBQ but will be back
I thought I had already reviewed this place I guess I haven’t. Anywho this place is Great I’ve been here 4 times. 2 past prior 3 time this past Friday the 18 and then again Saturday the 19. Both days the food, service and atmosphere were great. I wanted to try the pizza place spaghetti but it had to pre order the day before so I ordered one for Saturday that is why I came back. On Friday I went with a buddie of mine and he tried a pepperoni pizza slice and I got some garlic Parmesan wings. The wings were ok the chicken seemed bland but it was ok. My friend loved the pizza when he saw it he said it might be good but once he tasted it he was surprised and happy he said it was great. On Saturday I went with my parents and my dad got a gourmet hotdog. He said it was pretty good but a bit pricey. My Mom and I ordered from the Mexican food truck I forgot what’s it called but it’s red. She ordered flautas and I ordered tacos de fajitas. They were very good. I love this place. Many options on what eat and very clean. They also have TV’s and I think they do karaoke too on Friday’s.
Taqueria Hidalgo de Rio is located inside “the point”, It was my first time here and wanted to try it because all the hype in social networks, to start I asked for the menu and they said they didn’t have one, so I blindly ordered the steak tacos and the charro beans, everything arrived in a brown bag and it came with onions, cilantro, lemons and two salsas, red and green, the taco was pretty standard, the meat was a little dry and the flavor was ok after putting in lemon and salsa to enhance flavor, the frijoles charros were pretty good but in my opinion they could be better by adding a little more caldito.
In summary, not a place I’m coming back to anytime soon, tacos are ok but nothing crazy about them as people mention on social media so I give them 3 stars for the food.
Even though there are few options, they are each unique, providing for the opportunity to visit several times without eating from the same food truck each time. So far, we have visited twice, but had hot dogs both times. They are not traditional hot dogs by any means. The buns are their own recipe, but once they’re gone, they’re gone! They use amazing sausages, not franks.
We didn’t get to try the pizza truck yet, but we looked at them and they look amazing. The tacos smell delicious. The burgers are definitely on the list too. We’ll see what else we try eventually.
The pizza truck is soo good they make the dough fresh and the ingredients taste delicious. Huge recommend. Everyone is really polite and friendly. Great environment.
I also love the popcorn man I believe his name is Alfredo. I forgot to take a picture but he sells popcorn from a popcorn machine it’s delicious!
Will definitely be back !
