Poached Pear is a charming restaurant, where the food, service, atmosphere, and ambiance combine to create a lovely dining experience. That is why as nearby residents we keep the Pear as a constant in our dining repertoire.

On a cold winter evening you will be greeted by the warmth and coziness of Poached Pear, whose vestibule is thoughtfully enclosed to keep the cold away from the diners inside. Even the entrance is warm.

You will be greeted with warmth, too, then taken to your seat where the pleasant staff treats you as you always hope, as more than a number. That friendliness is backed by excellent service throughout your meal and a team of staff members will ensure your happiness.

The ambiance is lovely, thanks not only to the decor and lighting in the room, but also thanks to the to the civility of the restaurant’s guests, where the mood is cheerful.

We have sampled many dishes from the Pear, and all are abundant with flavor, served hot as all cooked dishes should be. We tried the corvina and it wowed us, both for the multitude of flavors and its heartiness, the latter of which you will find in many dishes at the Pear. The BYOB helps bring down the cost of your evening, so that is something to remembers when budgeting, that along with the generous portions that the Pear.

We loved the apple crumb special along with the homemade whipped cream, served piping hot alongside ice cream. The desserts are an exclamation point to the fabulous experience that Poached Pear offers.

We visited The Poached Pear Bistro and started with the mushroom soup special and the corn chowder—both flavorful and well-seasoned. For the mains, we had the scallops and the lamb shank special, and both were excellent. The ambience and menu felt classic and inviting, and the food was thoughtfully prepared. Our waitress, Kris, was wonderful—she described the specials so well that everything sounded tempting.

Never heard of this restaurant until recently and when I brought it up around friends; they raved. Let me tell you, this place did not disappoint. From the apps to dessert, everything was absolutely delicious. Our steaks were incredibly tender and flavorful. Give this place a try. I will definitely make a trip back. Thank you for making our wedding anniversary memorable.

My family had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. The atmosphere is very nice, a little noisy when busy but nothing too bad. The wait staff were very courteous and quick. We got their brined pork chop, their new York strip steak, halibut and spatzle dish. They were all phenomenal. The pork chop was falling off the bone to perfection, the mashed potatoes are seasoned and pureed very well. The halibut was very flavorful and the spatzle dish was also impressive. My dish was the new York strip which was cooked perfectly – medium rare, the sauce it came with complemented it very well and the vegetables were also seasoned and cooked impeccably. The only down side is we are not local to this restaurant so we cannot come here on a frequent basis. Otherwise we would!

Ordered the $60 NY Strip medium rare, it came out medium well. It was tender but way overcooked, that should never happen. I ate it because I did t have time to send it back. Owner did the right thing by taking it off my bill, but I wud have preferred to pay for a steak properly cooked as I ordered. Cardinal rule for a steak is never overcook it. Waiter also was in a rush, very curt, I know they were busy. Overall, very disappointing for a highly regarded restaurant

I cannot express how amazing this restaurant is! The food, the ambiance, the service, it’s spectacular. I absolutely loved the garlic shrimp and the fish special (I forgot the name of the dish) but it was packed with flavors. It included risotto, shrimp, artichokes and tomatoes. It was one of the best seafood dish I’ve ever had. I also recommend the chocolate cookie dessert. It had chocolate fudge inside and vanilla gelato on top. It was the perfect dessert to end our meal. I highly recommended this restaurant. I’m already looking forward to going back!

This dining experience was excellent. We had to take an early reservation to get in. Well worth it. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the dishes. This restaurant had a good amount of gluten free choices. We started with the French onion soup and salad. Both excellent. I had a special which was lobster on top of a crab cake, with spinach and mashed potatoes. I enjoyed every bite. My husband loved the pork. He does not care for mustard and they were accommodating and omitted it. I tried his dish, so good! For desert we enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake. Another hit, would get that again. This restaurant is bring your own. We are very much looking forward to going again.

It’s not always about the food. One of the main reasons I return to a restaurant is how we are treated by management. In this case they went above and beyond. I ordered a steak and it was not done to my satisfaction. Rather than tell the server I continued my meal. The next day I left a voicemail explaining what happened. Within an hour the manager or owner called me and apologized. We also received a gift card in the mail to compensate for my meal. This was a surprise since I called a day after my experience. Cudos to management. My wife’s filet was done to perfection. The servers were very friendly and attentive. The only issue with the atmosphere is it can be a little noisy but not to the point where you have to shout to have a conversation.

We ate here the other night and really enjoyed our meals. The corn bisque and lobster bisque were excellent and the short rib carpaccio was delicious!

For dinner, we tried a variety of dishes. The lamb chops were very good, as were the scallops. But our favorite entree was the pork chop, which was cooked perfectly and delicious!

We would absolutely come back!

Absolutely delicious from beginning to end! I took my fiance for his birthday & the Poached Pear did not disappoint! we both had specials: the corvina & new York strip. & we also tried the grilled octopus special, it was out of this world! everything was plated beautifully, fresh & came out nice & hot! Both sauces were very flavorful, steak was cooked perfectly & great portion sizes. Not to mention our server was attentive & timely the entire time. Just an overall wonderful experience & atmosphere. Cant wait to come back!
