Enjoy this untouched classic. Nothing has been remodeled. Huge canvases of woods and lakes. Reunite with old friends. We are lucky to have this place. Food is flawless. The fishwich with onion rings and an extra side of plaza sauce. And isn’t my cat cute?

Best dive bar burger in Madison. Their house made famous plaza sauce is a delicious addition to their burgers. Also a great place for pitchers of beer and to play darts, pool or bubble hockey. They also have nightly drink specials that can be a really good deal if you take advantage of them. The staff is amazing and will make your Plaza experience great.

This occurred at this establishment on Saturday, October 4th, between approximately 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
Upon arriving, I was initially refused entry due to being accompanied by my service animal, a dog trained to assist with balance and mobility and to provide grounding and alerts during anxiety or panic episodes. Although I was eventually allowed inside, I was then harassed and publicly yelled at by your bartender, Danny, who stated, “This isn’t a place for dogs,” and instructed the bouncer to remove me.
When I attempted to explain that my dog is a service animal and began to show supporting documentation, Danny said he had “seen it before” and continued yelling at me. He also yelled in front of other patrons that I “never buy anything,” despite the fact that on previous visits, I have tried to make purchases but was ignored by him while holding out payment, forcing me to rely on the female bartender for service. On the night in question, I was not even given the opportunity to order due to being yelled at and expelled from the bar.
Under 28 C.F.R. § 36.302(c), public establishments are required to allow access to individuals accompanied by service animals.
They may not inquire about my disability, or deny entry or service on that basis. The actions of your employee constitute discrimination and harassment in violation of federal law.
I intend to file a formal complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, which handles public accommodation violations.

08/09 night around 1am Atmosphere was fun just hanging out with my friends. I ordered a shot, I tipped $2. Next time I come up bartender said straight to my face, you haven’t tipped me and refused to serve me a drink. I left the bar area, my friends were sitting at the bar, hear the two middle age bartenders make derogatory comments about me behind my back. Overall just horrible service, very unprofessional

I got Plaza Burger to go grabbed an extra one “just in case.” I ate both in the car. Immediately. Like a man possessed. The bun? Pillowy perfection. The patty? Rich, juicy, exactly what a burger should be.
But the sauce… oh my god, the sauce. It doesn’t just complete the burger it transcends it. Creamy, tangy, mysterious it’s a full-blown spiritual awakening in a to-go bag.
And yes… I stopped on the way to family dinner. No one knows. Let’s keep it that way.
