The Playbook had potential, but the experience was frustrating overall. Live music and crowd energy were definitely the highlights – the band was fantastic and really kept the mood up. That’s where the good news ends.
The service? Honestly, one of the worst I have experienced in a long time. We expected a wait to be seated, which was fine. But once we were in, it took 30 minutes just to get water, another long wait to place our order, and then 40+ minutes for basic food that was… fine at best – nothing special.
No one checked on us the entire time, so we had to keep walking to the bar just to ask questions or get basic things. Then came the bill – which had alcohol charges we never ordered. If we hadn’t checked closely, we would’ve been charged over $100 extra instead of $50.
Even getting the corrected bill and paying took another full hour of back-and-forth. We ended up stuck there for almost 3 hours for one meal. If it weren’t for the great live band, I would’ve left way more annoyed.
In short: entertainment was top-tier, but the service was unacceptable and the food was forgettable. Definitely not in a rush to return.

Really cool new sports bar in the Rosie’s on Midlothian. Service and food were top notch.

Terrible selection for Sunday Football. They were only able to put 2 games on in the whole bar. Also, it should be noted that this is in the Rosie casino and the environment is not conducive to friendly conversation or meeting others. Feels like a large warehouse room.

Came here on a Saturday, which was the first day of college football season so my husband could watch football at the “sports” bar and I could check out the slots. The sports bar wasn’t open, when we asked they said just go to the regular bar. When we asked about getting the Virginia Tech or Maryland games on the tvs at the bar, and the bar tender said she wasn’t allowed to change the channels. MTV was on one tv and baseball was on two others. We just left, they clearly are not a sports bar….or helpful at all. Terrible.

We came in to do the man vs patty challenge. The food was delicious and the challenge was tons of fun! The manager on duty made the whole visit. He seemed as excited about the challenge as we were. His sense of humor and gregarious nature made it just that much more fun.

Worst Sports bar I’ve ever been in.. its a joke. They claim they are “understaffed” but there is ample employees but they all seem confused of how to do their job. You can hear a game on the loud speakers but it’s not playing on any of the 15 tvs. Would not even waste my money. The rosies little burger joint is 100% better!

This place has an amazing set up and I thought would be perfect to watch football….
TERRIBLE service ruined the whole experience. Not worth it at ALL. I rarely complain about service, I enjoy a slow laid back experience in general and know how hard the restaurant life is but this was awful.

Wow, I didn’t think it was possible have this poor service, but it is! Waited 45 minutes for 1 order. Then, foolishly ordered wings and still haven’t gotten them. Manager was irritable. My God, this place needs help big time!!+ Don’t come here to eat, just gamble. Do better!!!
