Hard to come by a real French bakery in the Capital District. This place actually makes some decent pastries. I tried their ham and cheese and strawberry danish/ tartlet. The almond croissant wasn’t worth the calories. The kouign amann though was definitely worth the detour. Almost as good as a real Breton butter cake. They have very French hours. I’d go back again.

We stopped here for lunch yesterday. They offer sandwiches and lots of pastries. We shared the Tom’s Turkey sandwich, which hit the spot. Highly recommend it. The ciabatta bread was so, so yummy. We also shared a mudslide, which was so tasty and not too sweet. It was the perfect chocolate treat. The restaurant is clean and the employees are nice and friendly. Highly recommend..

I am new to working in the Troy area sporadically. I stumbled upon this gem today. They gladly took me in before they posted ours and served me. It was a nice find, a great conversation with Tom, and I will certainly be back anytime I am in town. It was hard to not want to grab one of everything. I would much rather pay a person like this, then spend the same money at the bigger places. This gentleman’s hospitality and quality are hard to find.

This bakery is absolutely worth every bit of hype it receives! I have only gone once but I already know that you absolutely cannot go wrong with any of the menu items, which are all made in-house. I went for the pain au chocolat and the macarons (both amazing), but was absolutely floored by how delicious the eggplant/feta/roasted red pepper sandwich was – honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. If you’ve been thinking of going, go! Bring a friend or two so you can share all the goodies! My eyes are on the ham and cheese croissant next.

We were there on 5/18 and I admit I was a little put off by the somewhat dark appearance and unusual shape of the almond croissant UNTIL I TASTED IT. DELICIOUS, FLAKY, MELT IN YOUR MOUTH. Not over baked. Ignore those who “have lived in France,” “eaten in France,” and are experts in all things French! Who sets the standards? Some anonymous person who has “lived in France,” “eaten a meal in France”?Who are these people? It’s all baloney. The croissants were expertly baked and thoroughly enjoyable. WONDERFUL. We’ll be back. Probably tomorrow!

Five stars for the best pastries outside of France, and on par with the best in France too! I suggest visitors to Troy make it a point to stop here. The line isn’t that long and it moves fast and it’s worth it for delicious croissants.
