First visit and we’re blown away. Great service and quality pizza. True to NY style pizza and flavor is not a miss. Had the carnivore pie that served our family of 5 and a slice of Margherita to try with a couple of slices leftover. Thin but strong enough to hold everything even though you could roll it up and eat it. The crust is crunch and flaky like a baguette. There’s a couple tables inside if you wanted to sit down and eat a slice they had some ready in a hot case. Was able to order, go get groceries, and then have the pizza ready. Will definitely be back again.

I finally went to The Pizza Standard, delicious! For my first visit I ordered a hot Italian sausage and mushroom pizza. The pizza had so much flavor, and had a bit of a kick too! The crust had that nice crunch that I look for in a great NY style pizza. The customer service was excellent as well. Sam was friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to come back and try another pie, there are many toppings to mix and match. If you are looking for a high quality pizza, The Pizza Standard is a MUST try. Eat up!!!

This will not be as detailed as my burger reviews but I love pizza just as much… just so happens that pizza in San Diego is mid.
Been wanting to try out this spot for a long time now. Just hard when one of my favorite slices is a couple minutes down the street.
So I stopped in and the guys were doing their thing hands covered in dough and slaving infront of a hot pizza oven.
I don’t remember the name of the specialty slice but it was very flavorful! One of the better slices I’ve had in SD.
Feel like the slices were a little dried out from their time sitting waiting on me lol but I could tell fresh from a whole pie they’d be freaking fire. So my review will be based on that … not the lack of slice business in the area. They were cranking out the whole pies!

The pizza is huge and amazing! The crust is perfect and the toppings stick well to the pizza and dont slide off easily. Every bite is a delight. I would come back for more!

Live around downtown SD but always interested in finding good pizza spots and took a chance on The Pizza Standard. It was worth the 15 minute drive up and back down to pick up this pie. They may have the best crust in the city. You can tell there’s love and care in this dough and even the leftover slices still carry through just how good this dough is. Overall, it’s one of the top pizza spots I’ve tried in my few years living in the city. Their location isn’t one where you’d probably want to come with a group and order pies for dining in, but if you’re in the area and want a quick slice, it’ll do. I won’t hold it against them that the “atmosphere” isn’t 5 stars because that’s not what this is about. Last little tip. Order the cheese bread. It’s the best I’ve had from any pizza place.

I continue to believe this is the best pizza in SD. NY style. I think Regents’s sauce is slightly better, but you won’t find a better crust than Pizza standard. Atmosphere is merely ok, but we always get takeout. We order at least once every other month.

We tried this place for the first time last night because we happened to be in the area. O.M.G. I think this may have been a life altering, universe shattering experience because it’s the best pizza I’ve ever had. We ordered the cheesy bread and one of the specialty pizzas. We ate the entire order of cheesy bread which is a big deal because my husband isn’t really into just eating bread that much. Probably because he’s insane…Then the pizza came out and it was amazing. The toppings were delicious, everything was evenly distributed, and the thin crust was thin, but still sturdy. Staff was super nice and helpful. All around a great experience. I’ll make the drive from Escondido again just for another slice of this tasty goodness.

I’ve gone here twice in the last couple months and both times they had great movies on the TV. Avengers Endgame and Avatar 2. If I had more time on my hands I definitely would’ve sat down and hung out watching both movies. Whoever is in charge of movie selection, keep it up. Pizza is fantastic too. I recommend the testarossa
