⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wow!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our group of five had an exceptional experience at The Pirates’ House in Savannah. It’s one of those rare places where history, atmosphere, and fantastic food all come together to create something truly memorable. The historic charm of the building makes it a unique stop on its own, but what really sets this place apart is the warm, friendly staff and the consistently incredible dishes that keep you wanting to return.

We started with the fried green tomatoes, calamari, and corn fritters, and each appetizer was a standout—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. For our entrées, we tried a range of options: the gumbo, the fish special, the blackened snapper, and the fried chicken. Every dish was cooked beautifully, full of rich Southern flavors and generous portions.

Whether you’re drawn in by the pirate lore or simply looking for a great meal in Savannah, The Pirates’ House delivers on all fronts. We loved it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I will tell you this is my new favorite place in Savannah Georgia. One of the main reasons I don’t mind going back. You will have to make reservations or there’s a possibility you won’t get in because it is very popular even with the locals. The food is very good. The services excellent. There is a lot of history here, pirate lore, So if you love maritime history you love the story of Pirates you should definitely go here and they have a wonderful gift shop upstairs.

Best Shrimp N Grits On the planet!!!! We had lunch and started with the Blacked Shrimp Corn Fritters. The Shrimp were great and the fritters were okay.

They brought us some scratch made Cornbread and biscuits with house made Orange Marmalade and whipped butter. If I lived anywhere near Savannah I would eat those every day. The fresh marmalade was amazing and scratch biscuits are hard to come by.

The star of the show was the Shrimp & grits. Not sure what all the chef put in the gravy but it was by far the best I’ve ever had. Possibly the best Cajun Gravy ever. The shrimp were very fresh, the sauce unbelievable, and the stone ground grits were subtle but great!

We wandered around Savannah the rest of the day trying to find somewhere for dinner and kept saying nothing will be as good as the Shrimp n grits sooooo…. We went back for dinner.

This time for an appetizer we got the crab dip which was really good and came with hot Pita bread that was perfect, buttery, and hot. It was delicious!

Finally we got the dinner portion of the Shrimp n Grits which offered a new option to add Alligator Sausage yes, Gator!!!! It was out of this world good!!! Tasted like the best Andouille Sausage but much healthier since Gator has less fat & cholesterol than even chicken.

Overall Pirate House definitely earned a 10/10. From a longstanding chef whose favorite foods are Cajun, this place does it right! I will be back.

We had a fantastic dinner here! The restaurant is set in a beautifully preserved historic home that feels like stepping back in time. While they are famous for their award-winning fried chicken, the Shrimp and Grits stole the show for me—hands down the best I’ve ever had. Incredible staff and delicious food. Also, having a large parking lot in Savannah is a huge plus

Such an amazing experience at The Pirate’s House in Savannah! The history alone makes it worth a visit. it’s the oldest restaurant in Savannah, dating back to the 1700s, and you can truly feel that charm and rich history throughout the space. The staff is so knowledgeable and eager to share stories about the building’s past, which makes dining here feel like stepping back in time.

Tom was our waiter and did a fantastic job. Even with a packed house, he was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. The food was excellent, and came out quickly. the shrimp and grits were hands-down the best I’ve ever had, and my husband’s fried chicken was amazing (it’s literally half a chicken plus sides!).

Not pictured are the Low Country spring rolls because they disappeared before we could even take a photo, they were that good. If you’re visiting Savannah, The Pirate’s House is an absolute must. Make sure to take the full tour and visit the gift shop upstairs.

The Pirates’ House is a must-visit stop in Savannah for anyone who enjoys great Southern food with a side of history! Located just a block from River Street, this restaurant dates back to 1753 and was once an inn for sailors and, according to local legend, a gathering place for pirates. You can still feel that old-world charm in every creaky floorboard and historic room.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and they were excellent — plenty of flavor, the perfect portion size, and beautifully balanced with just the right amount of spice. There was also a great looking buffet with lots of options to choose from. The staff was friendly and full of fun stories about the building’s past (ask about the tunnels!).

Whether you’re a foodie, a history lover, or just in search of that classic Savannah experience, The Pirates’ House delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!

My husband and I had dinner here while passing through Savannah. The food and service were both top tier. Our server Darrius was very knowledgeable of the menu and he kindly answered all of our questions. I ordered the grouper upon his recommendation and it was cooked perfectly! The restaurant has a great amount of history, dating back to the mid-1700’s

We started with the corn fritter with blackened shrimp which was very good! They have fresh corn bread and bisquits with whipped butter and marmalade. Both were warm and fresh. My husband had the salmon and I had the shrimp gumbo. The peach beer was flavorful. I ordered the Release the Cracken cocktail. Beyond delicious. The atmosphere is quaint with small dining areas throughout a restored house. It’s located on the edge of the oldtown historic district. It has its own parking lot and handicapped parking is available.
