The Pink Pig was originally built around 1950 as a country store and grist mill. It was later purchased by the Holloway family in 1967. Pit-cooked BBQ, Bud’s Original sauce, and homemade Brunswick Stew slow-cooked in a cast iron pot, make this restaurant a local icon and tourist treasure. Founded by Bud Holloway, the tradition has been passed to his granddaughter, Samantha and her husband Jacob. “This place was my grandfather’s dream. Now, this is our, dream and his legacy. Thank you for sharing this tradition with us. We are keeping his dream alive.
Cheery low-rise joint dishing up pit-cooked BBQ, Brunswick stew & other hearty Southern classics.

Very cool and eclectic place. Portions are huge, service is friendly & timely. My son had ribs and said they’re great, but his highlight was the Mac & Cheese. I had the brisket plate w/Mac & Cheese and sweet potato fries. It was all delicious. My only complaint is that the brisket was charred a bit on the top, making it very tough and chewy. The onion rings and cheese sticks for appetizers were super yummy. We took plenty of leftovers home!!
Will definitely return next time visiting the area

Stopped in between the lunch & dinner rushes for a late lunch/early dinner.
Seated immediately at a table with more than enough room for our party of 5.
Atmosphere was super cute as they are decorated for Christmas.
Our server (Brelyn) was super sweet and attentive!
Food came out fast, hot and there was plenty of it. I can’t say enough about their Alice Potatoes!!!
Great little hidden gem!

The food was not good. The Alice potatoes were the only thing we ate. Why did the brisket come drenched in a sauce bowl? Good brisket needs no sauce. The mac and cheese was dry. I dont know what they put in the Brunswick stew but eww. The fries were cold and soggy. We saw good reviews and a long line, called ahead the next day for a reservation instead of wait 1+ hour. And wished we would’ve went somewhere else. You can see in my photos the food. And ask yourself how did they leave hungry? Because the good was horrible. Service was slow, drink refills took forever, and I had to go find our waitress to get a checkout ticket after waiting 15 mins for it

I got the brisket nachos, and that was more than I could handle haha. They were great, and I had plenty for later, afterwards. The waitress was great and made sure we were taken care of often. I’d definitely recommend this place. Some of the best brisket I’ve had in a while.

Ate here for the first time and we were absolutely impressed. There wasn’t an unhappy soul in that BBQ joint. Some of the best around! You will not regret it! We have the onion, wifey had the sandwich, and I got the incredible nachos. Top notch service always checking in on us and making sure everything was perfect. Got some of their banana pudding to go. Only open 3 days a week but they stay busy! Get you some of the PINK PIG today you won’t regret it! Been taking care of people since 1967! Couldn’t love it more!

Really nice staff, but unfortunately, as someone who tries a lot of good BBQ with my husband, the brisket just wasn’t it. When I order brisket, I expect tender, smoked, charred meat — but this came out in a bowl of broth, and for a second, I thought it was a roast. It was so tough I couldn’t even eat it. I’ve heard great things about the garlic salad, but it turned out to be lettuce drenched in vinegar. The ribs and other sides were okay, but I was really disappointed with the brisket.
That said, the staff was incredibly kind and even discounted our brisket plates, which I truly appreciated. Just wanted to share my experience in case the restaurant values honest feedback about the art of making great brisket.

This restaurant has legit Southern food done right. The seating is small and cozy, tall folks may need to watch their heads. They have cute decor and merch. I recommend trying everything though because it is all delicious. Great comfort food.

The Pink Pig has been around since ‘67. The food choices are different than most barbecue places in North Georgia in terms of selection. Their chicken and brisket are delicious. Their sauces are yummy and they have interesting menu items like garlic salad and special fries! It also has a very robust gift shop with shirts, hats, necklaces, books, and even Georgia Backroads magazine for sale! It’s definitely worth a visit.
