We went to The Pine Room for my birthday. The food was okay. Not bad but also nothing to rave about. Benjamin, our server, was really good. Cocktails were nice as well. The most concerning issue (for me) was the noise level.
However, it’s a small and intimate place and that would be expected. It’s just not something I feel comfortable with in dining experiences. Would I recommend it? Yes, because not everyone is sensitive to noise levels and I honestly had no other major issues. Would I return. Most likely not. But I’m happy it’s available because it seemed to be thriving and I’m grateful for that!

We had the absolute best time at The Pine Room! It was the perfect place to get together with friends for wonderful service, food, and drinks. Our server was fantastic and gave the best recommendations. We shared the cauliflower appetizer and Caesar salad with our first round of drinks. Followed by our entrees, I had the fried chicken platter with some truly delicious collard greens. We wrapped up with espresso martinis and the berry crumb cake and tres leches for dessert. The atmosphere was cozy but energetic with a live pianist playing the classics.

Our server was wonderful and the food was even better! I highly recommend the guajillo shrimp and mussels! We enjoyed our meal from start to finish. :))

They were absolutely mobbed on a Sunday, which is always a good sign since that’s the least popular night for eating out. We didn’t have a reservation and they were full inside, but we were accommodated on the patio where canvas screens and space heaters created enough warmth on a 45 degree night. Inside was a warm and convivial atmosphere punctuated by lively jazz piano that my daughter and I loved dancing to. Aside from the lovely and attentive staff who clearly take pride in their establishment, the real hero here, of course, the food. We split chicken nachos which had a lovely fresh take with pickled vegetables that created a lovely contrast in texture and taste with the juicy chicken breast. I ordered the Steak Frites rare and chose the traditional flank steak (NY Strip was available) and let me tell you…THE BEST Steak Frites I’ve had (outside of Marseille in NYC and ofc France). Took leftovers for some steak and eggs and the steak was EVEN TASTIER the next day! We will certainly be back again!

Went to the Pine Board with family based on recommendations. I was pleasantly surprised to find a pianist at the entrance,, adding to the overall ambience. The service was excellent, the food was great. Unfortunately, for reasons that escape me, a young child was allowed to beat on the piano incessantly during our meal. It was extremely unsettling and continued for the duration of our meal. I could not imagine why management would have allowed this ridiculous situation, especially considering there was a professional pianist available. Did management not consider the paying customer looking for a relaxing meal. The pianist standing near to the piano appeared to be uncomfortable with the situation and rightfully so. We mentioned the issue to our server, and he was apologetic but it was obviously out of his hands. WHO DOES THIS? Totally ridiculous. I will never go back based on this incompetence.

Stopped by for a late dinner. Food was good but the drinks were on point. We tried several of them and each was delicious. Our host, Jared, was the sweetest and gave us a great run down of the special and recommended some food. Our server was Kenneth and he was very knowledgeable about the food and drinks; helping us pick some of the craft cocktails based on what we liked.

Generally way too loud inside. Lovely and cute decor but just overwhelmingly noisy. There’s a pianist which is nice, but added to how loud it was. The tables are quite close together which didn’t help. The acoustics were not good for how dense the set up is. My party and I had to borderline yell at eachother to hear what we were saying, and we were only maybe a couple feet away from eachother. Even had to do this with our server.
Food wise – it ranged from great to just okay.
The pretzel bread, Farmer’s salad, fried chicken, and donuts for dessert were the standouts. Wow, just suuuper special and delicious. The salad especially had the most amazing, complimentary flavors. The pretzel bread was perfectly buttery, and crisp outside and soft inside. The fried chicken had great flavor and the skin was nice and crispy; the meat was a bit dry. The mashed potatoes side was strange in flavor, kind of tasted like powder/instant mix. Probably wasn’t that, but it felt like it was. The side of greens were just okay, bit too mushy and quite bitter; might just not be my thing.
The bolognese was also just okay, pasta wasn’t fresh and a bit over done, plus there was just too much sauce.
The dessert was AMAZING. They’re donut fritters and they tasted like heaven. Perfectly fried and sweetness level was just right. The ice cream balanced it out and added even more layers of yummy flavor. It was so delicious I forgot to take a photo before eating!
Service was fantastic. Everyone was super nice and friendly, not a hint of attitude from anyone.
Overall a pretty great experience with the food. The noise level was the main issue. Wish it was better and had more balance between loud and quiet. It’s not that enjoyable to have to scream through conversations, after all you go to dinner to talk with the people you’re with.
We’ll definitely go again, but we’ll sit outside next time.

Well it was quite the fiasco because of mother nature. We were scheduled to eat out doors when a high wind thunderous storm moved in making the outdoor seating unsafe and unavailable. Because of a full house and minimal indoor space our party of 11 had ——
a two hour wait—– before we were served.

We all rolled with the punches and while we were treated very well it was still …..well all very awkward. Some of our party ran out of patience and left before ordering. Those who remained just tried to make the best of it even though we were completely drained. But we were determined to make a go of this 60th Birthday dinner party.

The food was nicely prepared and pricey. The steak was fatty with gristle. My salmon was perfectly cooked ; the broccolini was amazing! My husband thought his drink was so good he ordered it twice!

Nachos were a big hit!

I didn’t hear many people in our party gloating over their food although it looked delicious.

Our server was very accommodating did an excellent job.

We really enjoyed the live piano playing.
That was a bonus!

Cocktails were perfectly balanced and reasonably priced. Chicken liver wraps were delicious. I could have enjoyed a few more, but they were an ample appetizer for the fried chicken entree — which I would mention is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. If I wasn’t from Chicago, I’d be back weekly.

Delicious food but extremely limited menu. The staff was phenomenal so attentive. It is labeled as family friendly with kids meals offered but doesn’t feel family friendly. I would suggest not being children here with the bar only 5 feet away from all the dining and it’s small space inside but other than that great!
