This was recommended for lunch by the very friendly lady at the city information center. We went around 12:30 on a Tuesday and it was packed.

Great food and great service!! Actually ate here twice on vacation. I never knew fried pickles were so good! Friday nights they have a live rock band… the band was good BUT they were WAY too loud.

IF YOU ARE A TOURIST DON’T ORDER A MARGARITA. Not that the margaritas aren’t good. It’s just the refreshing iconic vacation marg puts a big cash sign on your head, and let me tell you my friend, the waitresses at the Pilot House are as snaky as they come. Our overly friendly waitress took our margarita order. She was so friendly and busy she didn’t have time to properly pronounce her words, mumbling something under her breath and asking if we wanted it. Trusting fools that we are, we thought it was a straw or something reasonable. Then the bill came- and turns out it was an expensive brand of tequila. More than twice the price of the original. We questioned where this debt inducing number came from and suddenly she was not so friendly. Agressive even. She walked away. We ended up paying $162 in margs alone. She has innovated on the bread basket trick with cunning worthy of Jeff Bezos and, if I hadn’t been so enraged on being robbed, I probably would’ve congratulated her on her business savvy. I wish I could say the food would make up for it, but it was pretty, eh. Oily and fried is all they do. So to summarize. Mean staff. Average food. Good dance floor. So pick your poison. Just make sure you firmly ask the price first.

Go to Kennebunkport annually and first time trying this place. Wasn’t too busy and we ordered iced tea and an Arnold Palmer. Tasted terrible and got lemonade and a mixed drink which were fine. I wanted the stuffed haddock and said it was topped with Old Bay which I don’t like. Asked if it could not be added. Wife got the steak special. Waitress came out about 5 minutes later and said Old Bay is mixed in. Ordered 2 appetizers instead. Tater Kegs were dry and somewhat brown. Coconut shrimp has oil puddled on the bottom of the basket. Nothing special. Finished my appetizers and waitress finally checks on us and discovers my wife never got her meal. Turns out they gave it to someone else. She offered to get my wife another so we just got the check and left.

I travel for a living and gone from home 200 plus days a year. Finding good Road Food is the goal and staple of just how well a tour went. Best coconut shrimp I’ve had in 20 years and best seared scallops! I don’t frequent this area but it’s going to be on my list to return every time I do!

The best local joint since the invention of local joints. Great staff, old nautical vibe, excellent pub food.

Stopped for supper. Nice setting on the harbor. Live band was outside, couldn’t hear the inside though.

What an amazing and pleasant surprise. While taking some time to get away, we ordered food from the Pilot House for the first time. The fish portions were well above expectations for the very reasonable price. The french fries were perfect, and although they didn’t have grilled chicken sandwiches on the current menu, they gladly accommodated our request. Great food was received both days we ordered. It’s a small location, and it’s tucked back off the road, which could be a small, rather tiny negative, but the food is 5☆ for sure… Thank you guys for the great food experience…
