Excellent BBQ pork and ribs! We loved the bbq sauce. The half slab of ribs was so meaty I had to cut them apart at the thick end, but also tender enough to fall off the bone. The pork sandwich was a generous portion and you could sauce to taste. We enjoyed the seasoned fries.
They staff were very friendly. The facility itself was well worn, but functional.

Mimi was amazing!!! I’m a Memphis bar hopper and Beale Street is my favorite place on the planet. When you walk in you hear “Welcome to the Pig!” Which is the most Memphis line you could ever hear just love it. Most Tender pork I’ve ever had. Great meal portions. Beer is cold and fast. Thank you for keeping the spirit of Memphis and Classic Beale alive. The Pig is like a Time Machine to a better time. Will be back 1000 times!

This place used to be one of the best places on Beale. Recently the food and service have gone downhill. The service was subpar, like we were bothering them just to be there. The server sat out front out building the entire time we were there chatting with a friend. The food was dry with no flavor. We ordered a cheese and sausage plate that had almost no sausage and what they did have looked like it was generic brand smoked sausage that had been heated in the microwave with no smoke flavor. It came with a pound of cheese, way too much for tiny portion of sausage, and the pieces were barley sliced, I mean they were like 2″ x 2″ minimum. I guess it was too much for the cook to cut up some cheese for the overpriced plate. The pulled pork was even worse. It tasted like it was cooked all week in a crockpot with no smoky flavor, or any flavor for that matter. The wings were still good, but for the price $$$, we hoped something would be. Won’t be coming here again. Long time customer for the last 20 years but this one was my last run. If you’re not going to try at all for lunch you should just open at dinner like everywhere else down there. No music, no friendly atmosphere of servers, no thought for food prep, no thank you.

Traveled through Memphis on vacation and spent way too much on food that was dry and tasted like it had been sitting out for awhile. Ordered 2 samplers and the only thing good was the fries. Meat was dry with no taste. The amount of food for the price of 40 bucks was not worth it at all…went there during day around 2p maybe thats why, still thought for the price it definitely wasnt worth it. Do not recommend this place.

The food is awful and overpriced don’t go! The only good thing about this place was our server who was super sweet but the food was the worst BBQ I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. Cold white bread, flavourless pulled pork, and the toughest, unchewable ribs you could ever imagine. I don’t normally leave reviews like this but from what I’ve heard, this restaurant used to be good but it went severely downhill sometime in the past year. For the owner(s): you have got to offer quality food again or else I can’t see you guys lasting much longer.

Also please stop using styrofoam plates! They never break down in the environment and by using them you are contributing to environmental pollution which is not a good look in today’s world

First meal in Memphis, wow great meal – we shared a jumbo pulled pork sandwich and fries, both of us were full. Megan our server was fantastic, plus she explained why the jumbo price was less! They want you to eat more for less!! Wow don’t miss this place!!

The prices at The Pig on Beale are unreasonably high for what you actually get. The portions are smaller than expected for a barbecue restaurant, and the food quality doesn’t justify the cost. It feels like you’re paying more for the location on Beale Street rather than the food itself. Many customers mention that you can find better-tasting barbecue for half the price elsewhere in Memphis.
The food often comes out dry, overcooked, or lacking flavor, which is disappointing given Memphis’ reputation for great BBQ. The ribs and pulled pork are sometimes cold or chewy, and the sides—like baked beans or mac and cheese—tend to taste store-bought rather than homemade. Overall, the food doesn’t live up to Memphis barbecue standards, which makes the price sting even more.
The atmosphere feels unwelcoming and chaotic. Music is often too loud to hold a conversation, the tables can be sticky, and the restaurant doesn’t have the warm, Southern vibe you’d expect from a place on Beale Street. Instead of that lively Memphis hospitality, the place can come off as touristy and rushed, as if they just want to get people in and out.
This is one of the biggest red flags. Reports of servers adding their own tip without asking the customer (or adjusting the amount higher than what was written) show a lack of professionalism and integrity. It’s not just unethical—it’s theft. That alone can completely ruin the dining experience and make customers feel cheated.
A sign before you come in says live music but there was no live music at all and was very quiet.
Will not be coming back again.

While passing through Memphis, I looked for a place to get BBQ for dinner. My husband and I tried here because he was specifically in the mood for a pulled pork sandwich. It was because I couldn’t narrow down what I wanted that I got the Sampler! The pulled pork was very tender and delicious, and the chicken thighs had an incredible crunchy coating with well seasoned meat. I was slightly disappointed in the ribs, however, because while the sauce was amazing, the meat was not fall of the bone tender. I did enjoy the collard greens, which had a little bit of spice that complimented the meats well. Service was not super fast, but our food did come out quickly once we ordered. This place is not upscale by any means, in desperate need of an updating, but the food is good and worth the stop.

Delicious barbeque in Memphis! Ordered the BBQ sampler, plenty of food for 2 if you order an extra side. I’m biased toward the saucier KC style, but The Pig made a proper showing of the dry rub style. Beans were unique with jalapeno. I love spicy food so it was not a problem but maybe avoid if that’s not your thing. Service was prompt. A bit pricey for barbeque, but that’s Beale Street for ya.

$18 for a burger that was bland and basic. Even Red Robin’s basic cheese burger isn’t basic. Idk if it’s a certain time of day you have to come or maybe a different cook but the hype about this place did not meet my expectations. Just because you’re on Beale St. doesn’t mean you get to be overpriced and the food quality and taste doesn’t match. I may give this place a second chance in the daytime but I’m not interested in wasting money so probably not.
