Keyanna was our server and she did a great job keeping us watered and table cleared. Monday is all you can eat walleye for $15! The New York was overcooked (more well done than medium rare as ordered) but nicely portioned and great taste. The noise atmosphere inside was a bit loud but not intolerable. We’d go back for sure to try another special night like prime rib.

I don’t normally give bad reviews & I didn’t expect to give one here as it was highly recommended, but I was highly disappointed as was the whole table. Mom & I started with a cup of the shrimp bisque which was blah, I was expecting it to be more, lobster bisquey I guess in flavor so I just wasn’t impressed, it didn’t even have a shrimp flavor so just wasn’t impressed but, I was so hungry as we had been driving around looking at leaves all day, that I ate it. & I was still hungry enough that at first I didn’t even notice that my dish, Picatta, I chose walleye, was so so bland. (which is an odd description for Picatta, normally quite briny & lemony) I love Picatta & was so looking forward to trying the walleye version, but as I said, it was quite bland & not lemony or briny, really bland flavored & I couldn’t find a single caper in the dish. I then heard my husband ask the waitress for steak sauce & thought to myself… That’s not a good sign, he only does that if the steak has no flavor (he had the aged ribeye) Mom is over there going what is this I’m eating? She is picking thru hers not at all happy (She had the chicken pachetta pasta) Only it was missing the pachetta , I really had to look for that bacon, I might of found some finally, but it might of been red onions, the garlic bread was a hot dog bun or some such thing, turned into garlic bread & as you can see, burned, anyway, she just gotta go box for our dog. The waitress, although seemingly nice enough, never once came over to ask if everything was ok or if we were enjoying our meal, perhaps she was tired of asking that question. Asked the people who recommended it later & they said “well they’ve only actually had the prime rib & hopefully they haven’t gotten a new cook or something.” Not going back to this one.

A good out of the way place for a burger and beer. Food was good. The service was likewise good with a friendly waitress. The burgers seemed to take a while to come but not unacceptably bad. Cost was typical for today, which is to say on the high end. I will go back sometime

01/31/2026 – Breakfast. One word: “EXCELLENT!” The best stuffed hashbrowns I’ve had ever. My wife’s eggs benedict was excellent. The hollandaise sauce was yummy and the poached eggs were done to perfection.

So many things to tell you(long post), I was searching the area near our summer rental for a good spot for my birthday dinner. As I read the menu for this restaurant, I was getting that excited feeling that I stumbled upon a place where they really know good food. The Italian nachos looked promising as well as the reuben egg rolls. Sandwiches, wraps, burgers, oooh! What’s this is see? Omaha Hereford ribeye? IMHO black angus is highly overrated. I love a good heffer! So we seat ourselves, the place is popping busy, they’re having an all you can eat crab leg special this Friday night. We start ordering off the menu. Beverages to start, nothing fancy, just a good local craft beer and a summer mocktail. Appetizers, my birthday, I get to choose. I decided on the reuben egg rolls. For the main course, my bride orders the sirloin and I order the ribeye, we both get salad. The egg rolls arrive first, looking very homemade. OMFG, they are soooo good. Watch out for the juicy squirt (fresh sauerkraut). Ok, house salad – you’d think nothing special needs to be said about a house salad, we’ll let me tell you, house made croutons, house made dressings. It’s these small little touches that make a big difference. The steaks were fantastic, the sides perfectly done. The service- on point. The only drawback was the little black flies bugging my legs throughout our visit. But hey, it’s northern Minnesota, it comes with the territory and can be easily fixed with a couple of Vector or Lavex bug catchers. Overall, I shall finish pontificating. My suffencies have been sorrencified!

It was Okay. I dont think we will be going back. The cheese curds were good. The pork belly mac and cheese was a small serving, and they left off the BBQ sauce. The Nachos were nothing to write home
about.

Great option for dinner and drinks. The service is fast and friendly, the food was solid and it has good atmosphere. We’ll be back next time we’re here.

Outstanding service! Ordered a gaggle of club sandwiches with homemade kettle chips. Ready in 15 minutes. Order early. One of the best clubs I’ve had…and I’ve been around the country. Thank you to the entire staff at The Pickled Loon!
