Dined here twice, first dinner outside. Good food, good service at a relaxed pace with a nice view of the harbor. Bottom bun if the burger was very soggy. Second lunch inside, food was excellent, but very slow, probably 30+ minutes after we ordered, for poutine and a sandwich. We sat next to the door and there were quite a few flies, much louder than outside, also took quite a while to find our waiter for our check after we finished. Over probably 4.5 dinner outside, 3 lunch inside.

Service was okay. The food was below average. Plus extra fees? I ordered the broiled white fish platter for $27 and the fish had bones and tasted like smelly pond water. I asked for a new dish after trying a couple bites. The next piece was better but still not great. The sides were average, nothing was fresh. I had asked for an extra plate as my fiance and I we were splitting some things and they charged $2 for an extra plate on the ticket. I will not be going back overpriced and the food was just blah.

Had lunch here and both of us got the fish and fries. The food was delicious! The whitefish was fried perfectly and not greasy at all. The fries were also perfect. Why the four stars instead of five? Because our waiter never once returned to check on us or offer refills on our drinks. Not even when he cleared our plates did he offer a refill. The place was busy, but not swamped, so that’s not as excuse.

Waiting for our cruise we decided to get a bite at The Pickeld Herring to hold us over until dinner. We split the Wisconsin Poutine and they charged us $2 for the extra plate! I mean come on. That’s so cheesy. And the food is overpriced… but that’s the case just about everywhere… not that that’s justification.

This was our first time visiting Bayfield. We decided after our trip to Madeline Island to stop for dinner. Wait was 30-45 min, but we were buzzed probably after 15, which was awesome! We ordered poutine for an app which was good. Mixed drinks were okay, not terrible. Main course, mediocre. We spent near $200 (including 2 kids meals) and this was not worth it. I had bone in my fish and we’ve had steaks better at Texas Roadhouse. My green beans were over cooked. I don’t mind paying this much for a meal, but I expect much better quality. Our waitress was good though, no complaints from that standpoint.

What a great place! The bartenders were hustling & slinging out great drinks, the fish fry was *mind blowing*, & the hostess on Friday night was sweet as a peach. The views of the lake were the icing on the cake.

My wife’s and my favorite meal during a short visit to Bayfield. Fish fry was awesome. Outdoor area was beautiful. Great service. Great experience. Will definitely revisit the next time we’re up there.

The hostess was very kind and helpful, the food was bland, and the salad very soggy. The appetizer was also soggy as if it has been sitting in juices for quite some time. Shrimp on the salad was tasty but cud not eat the limp lettuce. Husband’s chicken was dry and not flavorful at all. Views, great! Dog and kid friendly, kudos! But improve the food!!!

If it is the weekend definitely expect to wait for a table at this place! It was packed no matter what time of day! Our server was just okay. It was very busy so I won’t be too harsh on her. Our appetizer came out with our entrees and that shouldn’t happen. We also waited almost a whole hour for our food. But on the plus side the restaurant I’d say is definitely a must try. We got the poutine for a appetizer and it was AMAZING. The fish and fries were fine but nothing crazy. The sweet potato fries we got were very thick and still raw in the middle of them. My suggestion would be to have them cut thinner so they get cooked and get crispy!
