We stopped here after an afternoon at the NASCAR museum after learning that the original location was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives, we had to check it out. It didn’t disappoint! Our group had strawberry milkshake, spinach and artichoke dip, fried pickles, Tommy Boy burger, Kick his ass seabass burger, Philly and French dip. Everyone was pleased with their choices. I had a gluten free bun which was actually pretty good. The fries however are not gluten free so just be aware. The chef came out and told me, which I thought was very nice. I would definitely come back!

Visiting Charlotte and decided to try for the first time. The food and service were both amazing! Our host Ireni was very helpful and made our dining experience smooth. She explained the menu options well and was patient with us. The environment was nice and it was actually a little more on the quieter side. 10/10 will definitely be making plans to visit again.

Pretty cool spot I recently visited with my brother. Food was excellent, service was great and the food came out in a timely manner. The burger I had was phenomenal and so was the drink I had as well. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. They even have a little arcade spot in there as well!

I love this place and can’t wait to get back to Charlotte to eat here again! The food, service, and atmosphere are A+! I loved the au gratin potatoes and my Nashville Hot chicken wrap. Yum yum! The fried pickle appetizer was everything I hoped for…especially with that homemade ranch to dip them. The service was awesome and I would have taken that guy home, he was just so great!

We had such an amazing experience at The Penguin Restaurant & Bar in Charlotte! The manager was so welcoming, and our waitress, Ireni, was incredibly sweet and attentive. The food was delicious so good that all of the kids finished their plates, which honestly amazed us! Everything from the service to the atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I’ll start with the positive. Great location , service was quick and food came within 10 minutes. Besides the fact that this place was established more than 40 years, I think it needs a deep cleaning service. When I first walked in, I was greeted by this damp-moldy stench that really made me want to reconsider staying. Thankfully, they had outdoor chairs.

Delicious burger. Wife and I both had the kick his ass seabass smash burgers. A lil messy if your handling this one. But man flavors are wonderful. Heavy in the pickles. Fries were seasoned and complimented well.

First time here at this location. Good menu selections, smash burgers are popular. We got a Philly Cheesesteak to go, our next visit we got the burger and Quesadilla. Our servers, Vinny and Jonathan were the best and kept us well hydrated and entertained. There is a plenty of indoor seating and outdoor patio that gets very busy in the warmer months. This restaurant is near Freedom park, so go have fun at the park and then get food and drinks here. Good selection of beers and cocktails. We will be back.
