Food is delicious every time – family owned and operated, and you can tell they all take pride in every dish
We’d been eyeing The Pearl for a long time, after seeing their posts on the Tierra Verde Community Group page, we finally made it in for dinner. It’s easy to find, just off Gulfport’s main path, with plenty of free parking—and a big plus, the location is high and dry, so no worries about weather!
The Pearl is actually a longtime staple in the area. It used to be on Treasure Island before the floods and hurricanes forced the entire plaza there to be leveled. Thankfully, they’ve found their new home here in Gulfport, and the restaurant feels just as special as ever.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Even without a reservation, we were able to get a table for two at 6:30 p.m. The dining room was already lively, and for anyone waiting, there’s also a small bar with a few stools to grab a drink.
The service and food lived up to the reputation. We started with the grilled Caesar salad, brie, spring rolls, and escargot—all delicious, the grilled Ceasar was outstanding. For entrées, the special lamb fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus was tender and perfectly cooked, while the bouillabaisse seafood stew was flavorful and light.
We were trying to be good, but it was Saturday night… so we wrapped up by sharing dessert—beignets with salted caramel ice cream and toasted nuts. While I’ll always love beignets on their own, this was a fun and tasty twist. Add in their great wine and cocktail selection, and it was the perfect evening.
The Pearl will be closed briefly for vacation, but will reopen in October, ready for the season. We’ll definitely be back.
I had the pleasure of dining at The Pearl Restaurant this Christmas Day, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! Walking in, we were immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a festive holiday celebration.
The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the food, which exceeded all of my expectations. To start, we ordered the lobster bisque, and it was nothing short of heavenly. Each bowl was generously filled with tender pieces of lobster, ensuring a rich and flavorful experience with every spoonful. Paired with the house salad, dressed with a delightful vinaigrette that perfectly complemented the meal, it set a wonderful tone for the evening.
For the main course, I couldn’t resist trying the prime rib. Cooked to perfection, it was incredibly tender and full of flavor. My companion opted for the pasta lobster, which featured an impressive and substantial piece of lobster that was both fresh and succulent. The combination of flavors in both dishes was extraordinary.
What impressed me the most was the freshness of each ingredient, which truly elevated our dining experience. It’s evident that the chefs take pride in sourcing high-quality components to create their culinary masterpieces.
Overall, The Pearl Restaurant did an exceptional job of providing a memorable dining experience on Christmas Day. I highly recommend this gem in Gulfport for anyone looking for excellent food and a cozy atmosphere. I can’t wait to return and sample more of their delicious offerings! Thank you as well to our excellent service Joy!!!!
We would have said something but ot was busy and did not want to make a scene.
Service was very good.
On our recent visit, we were fortunate to enjoy the seafood Wellington special, a masterful creation that showcased the chef’s expertise. The flaky pastry encased a medley of perfectly cooked seafood, complemented by a delicate sauce that elevated each bite. Equally impressive was the pasta with salmon; the linguine was al dente, and the salmon was seared to perfection.
Although the beef Wellington was unavailable that evening, Chef Karim graciously assured us that it would be prepared for our next visit. Such personalized attention speaks volumes about the dedication to guest satisfaction.
While we were too full to indulge in the desserts this time, the dessert offerings looked absolutely delicious.
The Pearl is a testament to culinary excellence. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this restaurant is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.
Waitress apologized said they under estimated the number of chicken meals? What? When chicken came out it was red and cold in the middle. Asked to see manager twice never came over. They did remove it from bill. We will never go back. Duck portion was a little drumstick and a small piece of thigh $27. Prices $55-58 per entree
