Love the sunny egg noodle. Exterior looks a little sketchy. Definitely a hole in the wall. Interior is nice. Food is what matters. I’ve only had one less than positive experience, but anybody can have an off day. It’s definitely a go-to in Hickory.

Came to see the art exhibit at Hickory Art Museum and found this amazing place. Wow. Great service. Amazing food. We talked of excuses to come back to Hickory .for future events just to eat here again. We ordered 4 entrees and left with a treasure trove of to go boxes. Also their Thai Iced Teas are HUGE! I had the traditional fried pork. It was delicious! The egg was supposed to be a Sunnyside up. However, it was cooked a little too long but not a deal breaker for me. We will be returning. If anything, service can be improved.

I’m so thankful that my friends mentioned this restaurant to me as it was not on my radar at all. While the outside of this small restaurant in a strip mall doesn’t necessarily grab your attention, the food that awaits is worth the stop! The inside was neat and clean and effort had been made to create ambiance in an otherwise industrial space. We ordered the Bunch of Dumplings appetizer and the Pad Thai with Chicken. The dumplings were crisp and delicious and the pad Thai tasted just like the recipe a Thai friend in Memphis used to make! The only thing that would have made the pad Thai any better would have been some chopped peanuts — maybe I will ask if they have any the next time. Our servers were friendly and attentive and we will definitely be back again!

Now that’s out of the way, let’s talk about food. The quality is as good and Mr. & Mrs. J-Thai. The only difference now are the owners. Kyle is great, and the service is wonderful. Frequently asking if all is okay; do we need water, etc.; made us feel like we were the only customers there – in a packed restaurant.

As someone branching out to try new types of cuisines, Peanut House is becoming one of my favorite places in Hickory! The staff are always super nice and give great recommendations. Food is always amazing. Trying something new everytime I go because it all sounds so good. I did make a request they steam the dumplings instead of fry them (steam is not on the menu) and they were happy to do so and they tasted amazing!

Amazing food and the staff was so sweet. The pad thai’s sauce was dark and rich, the pineapple fried rice was fresh with lots of vegetables, and the spring rolls were loaded. The basil was great. If I’m ever passing through Hickory I’ll be here again! 🙂
