The Pass Artisan Deli and Market – Experience Mount Pleasant

The Pass Mount Pleasant serves unapologetically interesting, deceptively Italian sandwiches, salads, and snacks.

If you’re looking for a sandwich that actually lives up to the hype, The Pass Panino and Provisions in Mount Pleasant is non-negotiable. I recently picked up the “Such a Nice Italian Boy” and it was, quite frankly, a masterpiece of deli engineering.
The Sandwich: “Such a Nice Italian Boy”
• The Bread: Perfectly crusty on the outside with a soft, airy chew that holds up against the weight of the ingredients.
• The Fillings: They don’t skimp. It’s packed with high-quality meats (mortadella, salami, and ham) that are sliced paper-thin, layered with fresh greens, and what I suspect is a house-made spread that ties everything together.
• The Balance: Despite being a massive sandwich, it doesn’t feel heavy. The acidity from the peppers and the creaminess of the cheese are perfectly balanced.
Know Before You Go
This is a “hidden gem” in the truest sense—the space is very small.
• Strategy: Be prepared to take your order to-go or snag a spot outside if the weather is nice. It’s the kind of place where the focus is 100% on the food, not the dining room.
Verdict: It’s easily one of the best panini experiences in the Mount Pleasant area. If you’re a fan of authentic Italian flavors and high-quality ingredients, make the trip. Just make sure you have napkins in the car!

The Pass

The Pirate Hunter’s Google Food Review just hit 10 MILLION views on Google food reviews—and The Pass – Mt Pleasant absolutely earns its place on that list.

I usually go with A Nice Little Italian Boy, which never misses, but today I switched it up and had The #39 from the all-day breakfast section—and it delivered big time. Perfectly balanced, hearty without being heavy, and cooked exactly how breakfast should be.

From the first bite, it’s clear this place is dialed in. Quality ingredients, bold flavors, and execution that shows real pride in the craft. The menu hits that sweet spot where everything feels intentional, not overthought.

The atmosphere is relaxed but polished, service is on point, and the food delivers exactly what you hope for when you walk in—and then some.

If you’re in Mount Pleasant and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out.
This is how it’s done. One bite at a time. Bravo Zulu Anthony & Team!

I ordered the Italian boy. Good quality ingredients unfortunately there was too much bread lettuce and tomato and not enough meat. Especially considering the $19 price. I also felt that the mustard was a bit overpowering for the sandwich. I suggest vinegar and olive oil.

Really liked our first visit, but unfortunately whoever made my sandwich hardly put any meat in it. Great flavors however it was 80% lettuce and bread. I got the Rach-Jawn which cost $17.00. I’m hoping it’s just a training thing because everything else was great. My wife got the Tacony-6931 and it had more meat than mine, but didn’t match online pictures of subs stacked with meat on their website. However she loved her flavors.

The sandwiches are tasty and the ingredients appear to be fresh and good quality. Service is great and I enjoyed the sandwich but this is one and done visit from me simply due to the poor value proposition. After tax and small tip you’re looking at a $20 sandwich, without a side or even any chips. Thats the price of a lunch entree anywhere in Mt. Pleasant, and nearly double the price of many sandwiches at other delis.

Not worth the price. Can get a much better Italian sandwich for same price at porchetta shop downtown. Ingredients were decent quality but the sandwich ingredient ratio is what makes it terrible. Barely any meat in the sandwich leaving it to only taste like day old bread, pesto and the cheese. If gonna spend $20 for the sandwich and are in Mount pleasant just go to Joey tomato’s. Any other Italian sandwich is better than here. Good service though

Not sure where to begin! If you have not had a sandwich from here..it’s a must! I am stuck on the Americano and The Bear. Eventually I will try something different. It’s just so good!

Great sandwiches, very flavorful, and piled high with meat! Sandwiches are pretty big, so I recommend sharing them and getting 1-2 sides. Both the Italian Boy and Tacony are excellent. Also really enjoyed their NA Aperol-spritz kombucha!

This place is amazing, the owner and chef is very talented! They do sometimes sell out, just something to keep in mind but that is not a worthy reason for any less than 5 stars!!
