The Parker Pie Co. started as a small pizza shop in the back of the Lake Parker Country Store. While it is still a little pizza shop in the back of a country store, the quality of the food and the community atmosphere has turned it into a favorite eatery and pub for locals and seasonal clientele alike.
Tucked behind a general store, this rustic spot sells pizza, subs & a variety of brews.

Fast-forward a year later, I happened to be exploring New England and decided to take his advice, and I’m so glad I did! Thanks, Bob! The pizza was delicious, but the Maple BBQ wings completely stole the show. Saucy, messy, crispy, and bursting with flavor, just thinking about them now makes my mouth water. Seriously some of the best wings I’ve ever had.
And to top it all off, they had Hill Farmstead fresh on tap, with bottles and cans available in the attached country store. This place is truly a gem among hidden gems in the Northeast Kingdom. I can’t wait to go back one day!
The atmosphere is exactly what you’d hope for in the Northeast Kingdom: warm, laid-back, and welcoming, with a mix of locals and visitors that gives it real character. It’s the kind of place you can go after a day outdoors to relax with good food, craft beer, and live music. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Barton, Parker Pie is worth the stop — it’s one of those places that makes you want to come back again and again.
This was one of the worst pizzas I’ve had in a long time. I got a medium Spicy Scott’s Revenge, and it was a greasy soggy mess (no amount of napkins could remove the grease on top). I had two slices before I started feeling ill from the amount of grease on the pizza. I tried it again later and couldn’t do it, I ended up just throwing the rest out. Maybe I went on a bad day because this is considered a Vermont gem, but this was not the experience I got.
At least the beer list was good.
The food here is absolutely top-notch — everything from the pizza and wings to the salads and sides was outstanding. The bartender was especially helpful and friendly, taking the time to help my out-of-town guest sample and select a local beer he’d enjoy. That kind of thoughtful service really stood out.
The location itself is lovely, and the ambiance could be ideal. Unfortunately, our experience was impacted by a group of 4 to 6 unattended children running through the dining area, up and down the stairs, and generally creating a loud and disruptive environment. It was surprising that neither the parents nor the staff stepped in to address the situation. While I fully support family-friendly spaces, there’s a balance to be struck, and in this case, it was missing.
That said, I wouldn’t discourage anyone from visiting — just know what to expect. If you’re sensitive to noise or looking for a more relaxed dining experience, consider ordering takeout. The food and beer selection truly make this place worth trying, especially if you’re meeting people from different locations and need a central spot (coming from northern and central Vermont) with reliably excellent eats.
We ordered to go and had pizza, fries and a steak & cheese sub, everything was delicious. We had Mike’s revenge for the pizza and it was Amazing!! So yummy, I’d drive 2 hours to get another,!!! Fries are fresh and homemade. Sub was so tasty maybe just the steak could use a bit of seasoning but still so good.
Would highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
We ordered the Scotts revenge pizza. It is pretty spicy so beware if a good hot sauce gets you sweaty. But the flavor of the sauce was amazing and unique. Gave the pizza a distinct Cajun flavor in conjunction with the shrimp topping. Would definitely return for this pizza or to try one of the other specialty pies.
