“Paradise on Your Plate” PALMS SUPPER CLUB·SATURDAY, MAY 26, 2018 WELCOME!! In 1936, The Great Depression had given way to new horizons. Enjoying this time of revival a local gentleman by the name of Frank Roller drew up plans to build a tavern featuring a round bar. Roller’s Round Bar ultimately earned recognition not only as the first round bar in Wisconsin, but also in the nation. He his bar with oak taken from a single oak tree. In the mid 1940’s at the end of World War II, the tavern was sold to Butch and Helen Palm, who continued to run the operation under its new name, The Palms. I went to dinner, their restaurant was only half full. But they walked me back to the very last room with no one in there.
The staff asked what I’d like to drink, a Manhattan I said. It was served well, as in low end.
Then behind the bar, a young man stands up, using high power tools with a very high pitch.
Why would you do this to someone who is looking for a nice evening out?
Go some place that will treat you better.

Cool supper club with the circle bar. Drinks were good and would recommend the ribs! Staff was fun and a good experience.
Typically would get prime rib but the prices for the size of the prime rib wasn’t appealing. Shrimp wasn’t as hot as I would’ve liked and friend’s steak was half well done and half medium rare.

I was born and raised in Wausau before I joined the military and had never been to the Palms Supper Club. Tonight I found what I have been missing out on for years. My brother told me this is the best place to get prime rib and it tastes the same every-time. It’s not like him to comment like that so I figured it had to be good. I was not disappointed at all. Three of us had the Prime Rib special and my Daughter had the Lobster Mac-N-Cheese. The Prime Rib was seasoned to perfection and almost literally melted in my mouth. I usually only like Kraft Mac-N-Cheese, please don’t hate, but I tasted my Daughter’s Lobster Mac and I think I’ve been changed. (At least at this particular Supper Club) Her entire meal was delicious and tender. She said it was loaded with Lobster. I can only speak for what we had this evening but if you want the best Prime Rib anywhere within 100 miles of Wausau you need to try the Palms Supper Club. I’ll say that 99% of you will be more than satisfied. Please remember, this isn’t McDonald’s or Golden Corral. The food is a bit pricier but worth every bite. Thanks to our server, Ms. Patty the bartender and Ms. Anne, (I believe she is part owner) for an absolutely wonderful dinner. I will definitely be going back when we come home on vacation. I think now that it’s almost as religious as Friday Night Fish Fry’s. LOL Thank you very much to the staff for making a great meal even better. V/R Terry Roberts

I’ve been to The Palm’s dozens of times over the last couple of years. Today was the first time I tried the fish sandwich. Definitely the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had! The melted, fresh-cut cheddar cheese, well, really topped it off nicely! The owner even checked on me herself. The place was busy and vibrant, and she took the time to ask me, a party of one sitting at the bar, how everything was. Just simply an amazing experience! Keep up the great work, The Palms!

Why have we not discovered this place sooner? Everything was amazing! The food, drinks, and service were all top notch! All 5 of us had different entrees, and all were delicious! The owner even stopped by. We will definitely be back!

I’m from out of the area but here a few times a year. I’ve eaten here 8+ times and its always been great. Our meal was no exception. Short menu as it was Friday night. I got the 2 piece cod fish fry. Very reasonably priced, I think $13.50. The cole slaw was excellent and I got 1/2 fries and 1/2 potato salad. I wished I would have gotten all potato salad as it was that good. Wife got the rib eye steak medium rare and it was char broiled to perfection.

Fantastic dinner club with outstanding food and the staff was professional and prompt. Will definitely be back. I’m from Milwaukee and visit my gf here often so you know I’m exposed to some outrageously good food and restaurants.

Honestly the rating this supper club is receiving is based almost solely on the poor attitude of the hostess. Unfortunately it set the tone for our dinner. She was short and rude with us. Sat us at a table that was crowding the stairs, even though there were many other more intimate tables available. We asked to be moved, which again made her unhappy.
Waitress was good, food was good. Unfortunately the mood had already been spoiled.
