We had an outstanding experience at The Palms.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Rob, the owner, who made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed, comfortable, and exactly what you want for an enjoyable evening out.
Our server, Mckenzie, was excellent. She was knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being intrusive, and very accommodating throughout the meal. Her professionalism and friendliness elevated the entire experience.
The food was exceptional, beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and clearly crafted with care. Everything came out perfectly timed, and it was easy to enjoy both the meal and the conversation at the table.
It’s clear there’s a lot of pride taken in both the food and the guest experience here. We’ll absolutely be back and would confidently recommend The Palms to anyone looking for great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

I recently dined here with a sizable group of friends to celebrate a birthday. The service was outstanding, and all of our needs were met promptly and efficiently. Our food arrived in a timely manner, and everything was delicious. We sampled a wide variety of dishes, including the lamb shank, pork cheeks with scallop, beet salad, duck wings, calamari, and beef tartar, most of which surpassed our expectations. While I found the ahi tuna main course to be less remarkable than the other dishes, the overall dining experience was exceptional. The cocktail menu is also quite impressive.

I visited 1450 Douglas St in Victoria for a casual dinner with friends. The place wasn’t overly crowded, which was nice since we had a group of ten. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly attentive—our server made sure our drinks were always filled and offered suggestions without being pushy. We tried several dishes, including the duck wings and beef tartar, both of which were fantastic. Portion sizes were generous for the price, making it a good value. The outdoor seating was perfect for a pleasant evening, though I noticed that indoor seating could get quite busy during peak hours. One small suggestion would be to offer more vegetarian options on the apperitif menu to cater to a broader audience.

Stopped by at Happy Hour, most guests were naturally at the lounge but we were hungry so we went for the dining area where it wasn’t that busy. The service was amazing, unfortunately I don’t have the server’s name but she was great in making sure our drinks were filled and introducing options without being pushy. Food arrived without any long wait time, and tasted delicious.

Had dinner here with one of my friends! The service was great. The lady was very soft-spoken and did her job well. The ambiance was chic and elegant with a warm golden glow. Food was delicious. I had vegan dumplings 10/10 and the beet ravioli was in a coconut spicy creamy sauce which I . The fondue chocolate for dessert lovely but my one critique is at there wasn’t enough fruit and ladyfingers to dip into it compared to the amount of chocolate!

Dropped in for happy hour pleasantly surprised by the Mucho Gusto margarita. Great spicy flavour and I highly recommend the duck wings too. DeeeeLISH!

The latest reincarnation of this space maybe the best. Surrey desperately needs another top finer dining option to go along with Tap and this may prove to be the one if it can survive the winter.
This is a larger space, with a good size outdoor patio area that can be converted to inside when the weather changes.
What struck me were the appys, the attention to detail, value for the money and originality. The bread accompaniments paired very well with each dish. Two appys and a beverage each would be adequate for a couple not wishing a heavy meal.
Service was very attentive and a spilt drink was relaxed promptly at no charge. The owner made the rounds throughout the evening making guests feel at home.
Prices were what has come to expect in 2025. In this case, overall they were supported by the food quality and service. Well worth the time to try this one out.

I wanted to rave about my experience at The Palms restaurant in the Rialto! I was VERY impressed with the amount of options and quality of vegan dishes!!!
They have multiple vegan options, and even dessert!! We ordered vegan dumplings, a DELICIOUS wrap, beet ravioli, and raspberry cheesecake (with VEGAN RICOTTA!!!) SO GOOD!!!
They have such cool cocktails with cool names, ours were delicious!
There were still two vegan mains we didn’t get to try yet!! Such a lovely experience!
