Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor, with just the right seasoning. The asparagus was fresh and perfectly roasted, and the creamy sauce added an elegant touch without overpowering the dish.

The dessert was a highlight: light, creamy, and balanced with warm spices and caramel, making it the perfect ending to the meal. Even the smallest details, like the garnishes and plating, showed care and quality.

Overall, this was a top-tier dining experience with excellent food, great presentation, and classic steakhouse quality. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend!

It was hit and miss for our first time. We went for Valentine’s Day and got their signature drink, Ti Amo, which was okay. My husband got the New York Strip and I got the Osso Bucco. We got mac and cheese and mashed potatoes to share. My husband’s steak was perfect. My food was bland. Didn’t taste any salt or any cacio e pepe sauce, I just tasted tomatoes. The meat was fork tender though and one I got home, I was able to season the good better. Both sides were also bland and the mashed potatoes were stiff and lumpy. My husband and I, also got a second drink. I didn’t like mine, but my husband’s margarita was one of the best I’ve had so far. Service and atmosphere were on point. Jarvis took care of us and another gentleman, who’s name I didn’t catch, packed up my food and brought me extra bread without me asking.

My boyfriend—now fiancé—planned the most beautiful surprise proposal at this restaurant, and I truly cannot put into words how incredible the experience was. I had no idea what was happening all night, but behind the scenes, Manager Belinda and our amazing server Jarvis were helping make everything absolutely perfect.
The level of care, detail, and love they put into this moment was beyond anything I could have imagined. They stayed an hour and a half past closing time—along with the entire restaurant staff—just to make sure everything went smoothly. That kind of dedication is rare and speaks volumes about the heart of this establishment.
Belinda and Jarvis went above and beyond in every possible way. If they don’t receive recognition or a raise, they truly are not appreciated enough. The food was a 10/10, the service was a 10/10, and the atmosphere was unforgettable.
I have never felt so supported, celebrated, and cared for by a restaurant team. We will absolutely be back for our anniversary next year—and many more special moments to come. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Don’t even look at the prices—the experience alone is worth it.
Thank you for making one of the most important nights of our lives magical Belinda and Jarvis.

Jarvis and crew took great care of our company. We had nine people in The Palm’s private room. All our food was outstanding. But the difference between an expensive dinner and a great experience is professional service staff. Jarvis is a real, tenured service professional and made the experience enjoyable and memorable. I recommend the seafood tower and Osso Bucco. They have a great wine selection, but know you’re obviously going to pay top shelf prices in a high quality establishment. We had the right expectations and we all walked away fat and happy. I’ll be back next time I’m in San Antonio.

Had such a wonderful experience last night at the bar top with Amy, Tito and Danielle. They made every moment perfect. Food was fantastic but their attention to detail and hospitality is what really sets them apart. We will certainly be returning in the very near future.

First time at the Palm and I am amazed with the classy atmosphere and service!! The lights were perfectly dimmed, which made for a romantic setting for us newlyweds. Amazing wine selection, melt in your mouth filets, lobster was perfectly cooked, and delicious margarita. We had the lobster ravioli as an appetizer and the Palm Duo with sides. Our server Michael really made the experience a memorable one, he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely be back, best filet I’ve had in San Antonio so far!! ❤️

A Disappointing Pre-Theatre Dinner at The Palm, San Antonio

We recently visited The Palm for a pre-theatre dinner, hoping for a classic, high-end experience before an evening performance. Unfortunately, our visit proved to be an overall disappointment, marked by poor cocktail execution, mediocre food quality, and a deeply concerning hygiene incident.

The Cocktails: A Shaky Start

The evening began with a request for two Sidecars. Upon arrival, the drinks were noticeably diluted and served with standard, low-quality “well ice,” resulting in a watery and unenjoyable experience. Our server, Nazar, who provided attentive service throughout the meal despite the kitchen and bar’s failings, graciously took them back.
We confirmed that the bar stocked craft or cubed ice before re-ordering. My wife opted for an Old Fashioned, and I chose a simple Bombay Sapphire martini. These were better than the Sidecars, but still not up to the standard expected. The initial sidecar attempt felt amateurish, suggesting an inexperienced bartender who may have been referencing a recipe for the first time.

The Main Course: Mediocre at Best

We skipped appetizers and went straight to the main course. My wife chose the Sicilian Salmon, and I ordered the Center-Cut 8oz Filet with a Petite Lobster Tail.

The issues continued upon the meal’s arrival. The lobster tail was served at room temperature, not warm, and crucially, was delivered without any accompanying drawn butter or lemon, a basic omission for any seafood serving. The 8oz filet was surprisingly flavorless and lacked the depth and richness expected of a premium cut. Frankly, it wouldn’t make a top-ten list of fillets in San Antonio; those seeking a truly memorable steak would be better served next door at Bohanan’s. My filet lacked any recommended accompaniments like a brandy peppercorn sauce or a house topping, and the flavor profile itself was flat, with an odd, earthy note that reminded me of liver. The entire main course felt uneventful and utterly failed to justify the price point.

The Unacceptable Incident and Management Response
Midway through the meal, while my wife was finishing her Old Fashioned, we discovered a bug floating on the cubed ice inside the glass. We immediately alerted Nazar, who informed the manager.
The management’s response to this severe hygiene breach was underwhelming. While they removed the two initial Sidecars and the contaminated Old Fashioned from the bill, the manager did not approach our table to offer an apology or express any real concern about the discovery, even after we showed them a picture of the insect.

The speed of the service, while normally a plus before a show, also felt rushed and transactional. We were in and out in less than an hour, which is highly unusual for a high-end dining experience and suggested a general lack of effort.

Conclusion and Post-Dinner Issues

This visit confirms why we had stayed away for the past five or six years. The Palm failed to deliver on quality, execution, or customer service commensurate with its reputation.
The final and most concerning aspect of the evening was that my wife became ill later that night, which we can only attribute to the Sicilian Salmon. This possible case of food poisoning underscores the fundamental issues with food preparation and handling we observed.
Considering the cocktail failures, the mediocre food, the management’s disregard for a serious hygiene issue, and the resulting illness, this will be our final visit to The Palm. There are simply too many other establishments in San Antonio that offer superior quality and a truly upper-end dining experience.

Jarvis was our waiter and his service was outstanding and above reproach. His personality was so pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed him being so special to us and over and about since it was my husband‘s birthday give this man a raise.
