We loved the ambiance of this restaurant when we walked in. Definitely a cool club with cute kitschy decor. However, we ended up sort of regretting spending so much money here. The food and service were inconsistent; never terrible, not great. We loved the soup of the day, and we recommend the pork chop plate. Other dishes we tried seemed way over-sauced or lacking in freshness. Just sort of lackluster. $80+ for dinner not including any alcohol. Somewhat typical dining experience for downtown Santa Fe, maybe even above average. But if I came back I’d probably just order one dish to share with hubby.

Very good, as good or better than some of the local hip and trendy restaurants, and at more reasonable prices. Wonderful Caesar salad with homemade dressing for $7.95. Don’t let the old time decor throw you off, it looks like a last century saloon, which I think it was. Nice outdoor dining area which would be good in warmer weather.

Walking around the Plaza, came across this place. We arrived there between 3 and 4 (between brunch and dinner), so only nibblers available. No problem. Ate on the back patio (very nice). We had the Bread and Butter and the Deconstructed Nachos. Both were excellent. Service, food and our waitress were outstanding. Would definitely go again next time in Santa Fe.

Pretty cool place, super chill vibe with great drinks and food. You can get a light meal like fries or go with the chicken fried chicken, the duck linguine was amazing. The place used to be a brothel so it’s got quite the history. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the bill was fairly priced for being in the center of Santa Fe

You never see reviews of this Santa Fe gem–so much attention is paid to the restaurants that have some fame. You’re just missing some of the best food in Santa Fe if you don’t get to this restaurant, which we visited three times in one week. We just kept going back for that amazing salad and boulliabaise the chef has prepared. The staff is lovely. The place is decorated like a house of ill repute because at one time it was owned by a woman who at the time was the richest woman in Santa Fe. Guess what she did for a living. We had one problem and it was with the owner: the band was about to play and we decided to stay for a glass of wine and dessert. We were told by the mortified waiter that we had to pay a five dollar cover charge. We said, “Huh? We just had dinner and we’d like to have dessert and another wine. We have to pay a cover charge?” The poor waiter went to plead our case with the owner. She said we could stay for 20 minutes. Clearly a misguided approach to customer service. We’re not the stoned twenty somethings standing outside with five bucks. We had dinner three time at the place. They knew us at this point. This person needs some management training. When you have a good customer you walk over to them and thank them for being customers and then you say please enjoy your wine and dessert for as long a time as you need. And the entertainment’s on us. She needs a course in hospitality. But generally you don’t run into the boss. It’s just the lovely staff and the wonderful food and the flocked walls. You’ll love it.

My first time here & it’s a nice room with cool decor & lighting. I had an assortment of tacos which were good.
I also had a drink from their specialty drinks menu which was a mezcal old fashioned. I guess I should’ve watched the guy make it, but didn’t. I literally could taste no hint of mezcal whatsoever.
I’ll probably come back, but it’s not a cocktail destination.

We came in with a group of friends for their birthday to celebrate and after asking the server what options they had for vegan food she told us their was one option so we didn’t bother looking over the menus and the waitress saw that we didn’t look over the menus so we ordered the vegan burger. She immediately asked us if we wanted fries with that so we said yes thinking that it came with the order as a side, (what burger doesn’t come with fries).
This was our first visit to Palace from Albuquerque. The burger was burned, fries overcooked, but we ate about half of it anyway because we were VERY hungry and didn’t want to deal with reorder. When we received the bill there was two orders of fries on the ticket priced separately. We asked why the fries were a separate charge. (she offered us the fries and didn’t tell us the extra charge). We asked for the fries charge be removed from the bill. The waitress was rude about it repeatedly so we asked to speak to the manager who was much more rude and began to belittle us by saying 3 times, ” I’m not going to argue with you about it because $8 is NOTHING…”.
She made us feel very unwelcomed.
Later during the night we suddenly got yelled at from behind us by a server (shorter women) to “move out of the way”, then immediately and literally screamed at by the server behind her (older women wearing a school girl costume), “you people need to move right now!..”, followed by simultaneous yelling from the taller young woman, “move move move”.
It is very degrading to be yelled and screamed at like a child!
Keep in mind we were not drinking this night. A simple “excuse me” would have sufficed.

We will absolutely not be coming back.

Watch you receipt in this place. They will add drinks to your order that you have not purchased. They will also add 60% gratuity and you left. I left 20% gratuity thinking I was being nice. When I got the credit card statement it had tripled. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I contacted the managers and they did nothing. I had to file a complaint with my credit card company.

I loved this place. We came for a drink and stayed for the live music. The Palace is swanky and low-key with a great bar and even better service. The outdoor patio is beautiful at night and surprisingly cool despite the heat.
