Possibly the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had, I don’t know what went wrong in the kitchen, but chips and fish both under cooked, and not crispy at all , I presume it depends who is the chef, as other pictures of food look good. So if anyone reading this owns this business, I was served this on 25/02/2025, Maybe you would like to contact me regarding a refund? And it’s such a shame as I think your other restaurants are The Scallop Shell and Sydney’s, which I have visited several times over the last few months. So you should be able to do better than this .

Absolutely amazing. Very polite service. Food is great- big portions, huge cup of tatar sos, chips made perfectly golden not too crispy not too pale ( I didn’t have even one of those raw, undone bits you often get in chippies) and fish cake was chunky and not dry out. All of that is even better when you see this low prices.

The best fish and chips takeaway in Bath! I bought scampi + cod and chips, and both of them were delicious. They’ve got options for vegetarians and vegans as well. The price is pretty average with a huge portion of food. I waited within 10 minutes for my order to be served. There’s no table to dine in since it’s a takeaway restaurant but chairs are provided for customers to sit while waiting.

Loved the atmosphere inside, plus the cashier was so friendly and attentive. Great customer service by the staff. This restaurant really deserved the awards that they’ve got. Definitely gonna return here again next time.

Since the new year we have been disappointed with the quality of the fish and chips. On returning from a weeks holiday I had a fish n chips craving, so thought id give oyster shell another chance. I even paid £6 more than my wifes for a large cod. But it wasnt 6 pound in size or value more. The fish was marginally larger, but the fish was thin and mushy, where have the nice large white chunky flesh fish gone? The chips were ok, nothing special, if anything they were dry. Curry sauce is ok, but again I find the portion size small. So, what once was a great tasting and good priced meal, has changed to overpriced mediocre now.

After I knew it was open, I’ve always wanted to have a go. From the name, I should have immediately connected it to the brother seafood store downtown but I missed the hit in the first sight. The atmosphere and food quality is second to none.

There was a Friday, we were really tired after a long week’s work and we decided to have fish chips after a nap. The store is not hard to find, it’s right on the high street. There had been a queue but not too much. The store’s people management is spot on, one group is for taking orders one group is giving orders away to customers, one group is for preparing for the fish.

Menu is simple, easy to read and choose. Unfortunately the oyster has sold out that day. The fish is nice and fresh, I am quite picky at the quality. The chips are nice and chewy. It comes with the pea creams. Tomato sauce and vinegar is help yourselves.

I love the brown paper comes with it. Old fashioned in a nice way and quite a trendy one.

It’s take-way only. Although it is a nice place, we cannot sit down to dine there.

Loved visiting here for years! Fish and chips always piping hot and cooked to perfection. Can be a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for, plus the portion sizes are generous. Staff are lovely too, especially the front of house lady with blonde hair and glasses. She always seems to be on shift when we order and she’s really kind and helpful!

As a long-time customer of the oyster shell fish and chip shop in Bath, I have always eagerly anticipated my visits. However, my recent experience was deeply disappointing.

The fish and chips I ordered today were the most expensive I have ever had, priced at nearly £17. In 2022, the same dish cost around £10. While the fish was of satisfactory quality, the chips were utterly disappointing.

Regrettably, this incident has prompted me to conclude that I will not be returning to the shop in the future. The standards have deteriorated, and the prices have become excessive.

Great fish & chips. I live in London so my expectations for food is high! The bread was INCREDIBLE. The service was so kind and amazing. They let us bring in our new puppy, provided water for him. Super accommodating. Kelly at the front desk was great. Definitely would go back again when I return to Bath!

The fish and chips were lovely, but the fish cakes were disgusting. You get two as a portion for £6.50 and there was no fish in them, just powdered mash potato covered in breadcrumbs. They were so dry and inedible, and definitely not worth the £6.50 that I paid

Been going here for a while. Not particularly a fan of fish but this place does it really well along with chips and have taken many friends who have all appreciated as well.
