Every time we come to Puerto Rico, this place is a must visit before we head back home! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was super welcoming and kind.
We ordered passion fruit mojitos and an old fashioned for drinks amazing! Their oysters are delicious and everything is incredibly fresh.
For our main course, we had:
Fresh Clams Casserole
Lobster Tail
Lobster Roll
Everything was outstanding.
Highly recommend 5 stars all around!
Chimichuri steak wasn’t the chimichuri sauce. Just parsley garnished on top.
The clam chowder soup taste like it had sand in it. Like the clams were not cleaned well.
Octopus had a guava dressing that took away the sea food flavor and made it sweet.
I wouldn’t revist
We four friends began with refreshing cocktails and a variety of incredibly fresh raw oysters from both the East Coast and British Columbia/Washington. The fresh oysters don’t need anything added, but the homemade pique is a great option. Psst – ask for a small bottle to go.
We followed up with ceviche, lobster escargot, sushi grade blue fin tuna & cod crudo, razor clams, plus seared scallops. Fresh delicious food combined with friendly service is clearly their love language.
We topped off the fun vibes with Puerto Rican Basque cheesecake and mini coquitos.
This place could equally be your neighborhood hang or destination dining.
My experience here was incredibly disappointing, and I left feeling uncomfortable.
Despite the outdoor seating area being more than half empty when we arrived for dinner, my friend and I were seated in a cramped corner right next to the stairs, and we the only guests placed there at that time. As the only Asian there, the seating choice felt unfair and isolating. It seems like they are putting the ethnicity they don’t like in one corner.
The food quality was just as troubling.
Octopus ceviche: extremely salty, almost inedible.
Seafood stew: contained two dead, bad smelling mussels. The dish had to be removed from the bill.
Oysters: served on ice that was already half melted, making the dish look reused and unappetizing.
Service didn’t make things any better. The wine arrived 20 minutes after the main course and the pour was barely half a glass. After checking photos online, it seems other guests consistently receive a full pour, so I truly don’t understand why mine came out so short. Or maybe the waiter just being racist, which I’m not surprised.
Overall, I’ve never had an experience like this at a restaurant. Whether intentional or not, the treatment felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming, and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not be returning, and I hope future guests read this before deciding to dine here.
