Basic cafe/bar right downtown for just about any of your cravings. Can sit at the counter and watch the ladies efficiently crank out the orders on the griddle, or sit the bar with a cold one and watch the game.
It’ll sustain you early or late, even if it’s not a fancy meal.

I ordered an “Albacore Tuna Melt” and was served two slices of buttered white bread, a virtually unmelted slice of cheddar cheese, and a runny, mayonnaise slop that contained some canned fish. Mind you, this sandwich is listed on the menu for $12 and does NOT include a side. A side of french fries would cost additional (per our server). After further look at the menu, it’s clear the prices listed are arbitrary and vary wildly with no reason (food + labor costs, overhead, etc). Yikes, guys. Longstanding establishment or not, at least pretend like you care. It’d behoove of you to toss 15 cents worth of frozen fries on the plate to prevent your customers from even taking a photo this abysmal.

The Oxford Cafe is a fantastic, cool little old bar nestled right in the heart of downtown. It has a wonderful, laid-back atmosphere with plenty of historic charm. Despite being a classic, cozy spot, it boasts a surprisingly spacious environment, so you never feel cramped while enjoying your drinks. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. As a fun bonus, they even have video poker machines tucked away in the back if you’re looking for some extra entertainment. Highly recommend checking it out!

Stopped here for a quick breakfast during our roadtrip. Food took quite awhile to come out. Open kitchen and only one lady cooking away.

My partner was served fresh coffee. Typical diner breakfast. We noted the Rye was really good. I ordered corned beef hash and the hash browns extra crispy but only got the Corned beef well done. Not a big deal.

Our server was very attentive considering it was his first day! Great job! Other server was also pleasant.

Seems like a cool spot. Bar at front and Casino at he back corner. Food in the middle. Pick your poison lol. Nice corner establishment.

Incredibly awesome old school bar/diner combo. Right about 150 years & counting! I got the special, which is chicken fried steak eggs & hashbrowns. On point. Cheap & delicious. I also ordered a Greyhound, which was only $3.75. Are you kidding?! If I lived in Missoula I’d be here every day. The vibe is perfect, like you stepped back into the 70s. I love it. Ten stars out of 5. Highly recommended.

Stopped into town to get something to eat, found this bar/cafe place. There was one guy working as a waiter and cook gave us great recommendations and he wasn’t kidding about how good this place is . Has to be the best place in the area so far .

This is a very unique place having a diner and a bar in the same open room. It also has some very old guns behind the bar, which is really cool and neat to look at. As far as the food, it is excellent the eggs tasted great along with the burger, and Gravy. The Oxford has great customer service is reasonably priced and has a little bit of a sh!t show going on.

After striking out at a couple other places in Downtown Missoula for brunch, my wife and I visited the Oxford on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022. We were just looking for a place to eat but we ended up getting an experience as well.

We sat at the kitchen bar that overlooks the grill. We got to watch the cook prepare meal after meal on a busy Sunday and it was so cool to watch him handle the volume with such talent! It was like hibachi but American style. The single server who was working did such a good job keeping up with the pandemonium. It is old and dark inside the restaurant but it just adds to the atmosphere.

Our food was pretty good. I got the sausage and cheddar omelette and my wife ordered the famous chicken fried steak. Both dishes came with hash browns and toast. The best part? Everything is so cheap! The total for our brunch was $22. When you visit the Oxford—and you can visit it anytime you want because it is open 24/7/365—you don’t just get good food but you also get superb service, inexpensive prices, and a whole lot of culture. We will definitely return when we visit Missoula.

The Oxford Cafe in Missoula is a nostalgic treasure that remains true to its roots even after 30 years since my last visit while at U of M. Despite the city’s gentrification, this gem stands as a reminder of the past, offering a traditional American breakfast that’s just as wonderful as I remembered. The service is great, and the ambiance takes you back in time with its old bar, traditional bar seating for restaurant, and gambling. Over the bar, a massive display of guns adds to the unique character of the place. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a slice of Missoula’s history with a hearty meal and excellent service.

This is the definition of a classic MT bar, restaurant plus keno machines. $30 ribeye paired with $3 cocktail you cannot go wrong! Highly recommend stopping by. The cook was Vee tonight and he did very well cooking the ribeye rare/med-rare. Beth was the bartender, and she is absolutely amazing- personable -funny- down to earth- and makes a very good drink that will.cost you less them $3..

Must stop or go to in missoula MT!!
