New Italian place in Bar Harbor – the food was just alright but great service and ambience. Nice switch up from the typical Bar Harbor lobster fare. They were also able to replace the shrimp with lobster on the scampi dish which was great.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Ovens – a new restaurant tucked into The Pathmaker Hotel – and would absolutely return if we had another night in town.

Our server, Emily, was warm, friendly, and genuinely accommodating from start to finish. We started with the Mediterranean Muse flatbread, which was beautifully presented (see photo) and packed with flavor – tangy, cheesy, and fresh with a drizzle of balsamic. Our entrées were equally impressive. The Tuscan Garden Salad was crisp and well-balanced, while the Pasta Primavera was vibrant and flavorful, with the kind of freshness that makes you pause between bites to appreciate the ingredients.

We each enjoyed a glass of Italian wine – one Barbera and one Pinot Grigio – which paired nicely with the meal.

A lovely surprise came at the end: a petite chocolate mousse in a shot glass, described by Emily as their playful twist on an Andes mint. It was a light and airy final note that really showed the kitchen’s attention to detail.

Speaking of detail, it’s clear that care went into every part of the experience – from the plating to the pacing to the overall ambiance. The vibe was relaxed but refined, and everything felt intentional.

We only wish we had more time in Bar Harbor to return. This place is a gem and I recommend it!

This may have been the BEST shrimp scampi I’ve ever had. My husband also said his NY strip was one of the best steaks he’s ever had. We each got cocktails as well and they were delicious! (I had the Fico e limone and it was delightful!) To top it off, we each got a complimentary mini mint chocolate mousse. And jazz music was playing in the background. We had to wait a while after we were seated before we got to order, but from the first time she came over to our table until we left, our waitress, Sonya, was very attentive and kind. Overall, a fantastic experience and a great way to end the evening during our honeymoon. We may just have to come back here again before our trip is over.

The atmosphere was so good, super warm and inviting, and the service was on point the entire time. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, and I was really impressed with how balanced and creative the flavors were. The cocktails were honestly the highlight for me. Every one we tried was incredible, and I truly don’t think you could pick a bad one off the menu. This place just has such a good energy and attention to detail. It is definitely worth making time for if you are in the area.

we went here with reservations for a party of 4 at 7:30 pm on a friday night. we were seated almost immediately upon arrival and emily took our drink orders right away. we ordered calamari as an appetizer and it took almost 20 minutes to come. the portions were lacking for how expensive it was. we ordered 2 entrees to share, as we have at almost every other restaurant in bar harbor, and when the plates came (which were both over 30 dollars and took upwards of half an hour to arrive) they looked like they contained enough food to satisfy one adult. the shrimp scampi was delicious despite the disappointing portions. the ciopino also just not as good as expected. one of us ordered a mocktail that was described as a alcohol free champagne with white peach and lemon juice. the peach flavor was absent, and it was very bitter. shirley temple was too syrupy. sauvignon blanc was impressive as was the staycation and the aperol. after dinner the restaurant is supposed to offer a complimentary mint chocolate mousse, which they did, however they only brought us 2 because they “ran out”. there were MAYBE 4 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. just a pretty disappointing experience overall except for the delicious shrimp scampi and classy italian atmosphere.

We went back for our second time for my wife’s birthday. We called beforehand and made reservations. When we arrived our table was ready and we brought our 10 month old daughter, they had an etch a sketch right in front of her highchair and a great setup for us. The service was great and the food was much better than our first visit. I tried the chicken parm and my wife had the steak. No complaints here! Great food and great service.

Good atmosphere, very nice restaurant, we took our 8 month old daughter and they were very accommodating. Very good addition to bar harbor, would like to see some more gluten free options and non seafood apps on the menu. The food we got was good but the steak was advertised as a 12 oz and seemed much smaller than 12 oz but the cook on it was perfect and it was seasoned well. The flourless chocolate torte was delicious.

I understand this is a new restaurant so I don’t want to ding them too badly. The atmosphere felt like an upscale wannabe. They need to tell the staff to be a bit more attentive. Waters weren’t filled regularly, and orders weren’t taken quickly. The appetizers were pretty good. The scallops were very delicious. The “jumbo” shrimp seem to be normal shrimp. We ordered the Chicken Parmagiano and the noodles had zero sauce on them. It had been poured all over the chicken on top of the noodles. Flavor was alright, but it wasn’t a great experience. Hopefully as they grow, this review won’t be the norm.

Friendly staff and delicious food! For drinks, we enjoyed the Anchorage, Sorrento Spritz and the Ullikana. Bread sticks were warm and came with marinara which was a nice touch. Shrimp scampi was very tasty!
