Just got their first DoorDash tonight. My wife and I love Nana’s! Food is always fresh and hot. Excellent service and the store is kept very clean. We’re life long locals and have eaten here since we were little kids for the last 40+ yrs. Go and get some

Great food. I used to come here regularly when I lived in the area. We stopped by while visiting family in the area. Food was still great and my kids loved his burger. We had an issue where my son’s nose started bleeding and the staff went out of their way to help or see if we needed anything. It was a minor issue for us. But the staff went above and beyond in helping out. Very glad to be able to visit one of my favorite local places! The kids also loved the milk shakes. Looking forward to visiting again!!

I usually make a beeline for Portillo’s anytime I visit a city that has a location, especially when visiting Chicagoland. Today I decided to look at review and see what the locals really like and came across some older reviews in the local media (paper/TV/news) about this place, so I came here.
The manager who rang me up was excellent, very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Their menu is pretty nicely done and since I love to try an Italian Beef and Chicago Dog when I visit places, they had a meal deal with a mini Italian Beef and a hot dog that can be done Chicago style. The deal came with a drink and fries and was only $12.45 – great price for all that food!
They will grill (open flame) your hot dog if you request, so I tried that as I’ve never had a grilled Chicago Dog. The food came up pretty quickly and was piping hot. The dog looked like a messy, it wasn’t on a poppy seed bun either, but the flavor was excellent and the peppers were spicy. Overall, I really liked it, but not nearly as much as Portillo’s.
The Italian beef weas just “ok” to me. The beef tasted decent, but was slightly dry and unflavored. The jus was decent. The bun was OK. The giardiniera was nice and spicy and was my favorite thing about this sandwich.
The fries were pretty decent… they looked and tasted like they were double-fried, which is nice. I had the need to visit the restroom while there, that was interesting. It’s literally a walk through their entire kitchen to get to. It was VERY clean though, which was nice. I did get to see “behind the scenes” while making this walk and the cleanliness of the kitchen and food handling was impressive, considering the front of house looks old and has signage falling apart.
Overall, it was decent, but didn’t hit like Portillo’s does for me.

2 cold. 2 incorrect. 2 employee’s that helped seemed like they didn’t want to be there or taking an order. 2 long in business for this cold grey dog. 2 customers, didn’t get 1 Smile w 0 HOT food & 0 Chicago Style Dog. Italian beef still tasty even Luke Cold. A shame. All the way from TX & AZ. Got the Wrong Nana’s house. No tomato, pickle, or sports peppers, lol. . . Thanks NANA !

I moved out of Illinois a while back when I visit, this is a must to place. They’re hot dogs have an awesome snap when you bite in. The toppings are how they should be, and the crispy fries on top brought back some good times. The beef is flavourful and delicious. I asked for sweet peppers and it to be dipped. I was not disappointed. If you like that other place towards Chicago, (G&J,cough, cough), try here and you won’t be let down.

Always a great place to go and eat any day anytime !This place has been here in Hanover Park for many years. We’ve had new owners, but still the same style of restaurant with the same name, same great taste same same great service with excellent employees and quick ready to go in just minutes! Thanks to all their hard working explyees work at Nana’s . It wouldn’t be Nana’s without the excellent employees and their hard work and speedy service!

I’ve been coming here for about 25 years, and it used to be a good place. In the last year the quality of product, service and price has changed drastically. The last three times I’ve eaten here, the fries have been pretty bad. Over cooked usually. I used to think they were great. They seem to hire these young girls who take your order, who don’t have listening skills. For example; this week my wife and I both received our order very different than we ordered it. My wife wanted a dry beef and received it very wet. I ordered a burger with just onions and received one with everything. We ordered two medium diet colas and received one very large diet and one very small regular Pepsi. Plus prices have gone up to a point where it’s just not a good value any longer. Although the food and pricing is no longer great, it’s not their biggest problem… it’s the order takers.
