We mostly do takeout as the place is usually pretty crowded. Very recently when they stopped taking online orders. Things seem to have changed for the worse. The chicken sandwich was super tough and the omelette was bare bones literally like 3 slices of avocado and a glop of cream! Hopefully it gets better but it sure has pushed us away from our favorite local breakfast spot:(

Visited here on Jan 21 at around 9pm. Wasn’t busy, plenty of front row parking in front of the building. Visit here at least once a week with family or friends. The service is usually really good, usually little to no wait.
This visit was the exception. My party of 3 had to wait 15 minutes to have our order taken. When we got our order the food was great, perfect temperature, no issues there.
The main issue happened after we got our food. At no point after receiving our food did any server, waiter or anyone check in on us. It was as if we were forgotten about.
We finished our meals and sat waiting for a server for over 10 minutes to order dessert and eventually gave up and had to wait at the register for another few minutes before someone checked to see what we needed. I even joked about how we could just leave and “pay next time” because we never received our check, nor did they check to see if we paid.
This was the worst experience any of us have ever had at any sit down restaurant. We may as well just went to a fast food place like Jack in the box, the service wouldve been the same.

Me and my husband were at Mel’s and came in with a request for seating for 20 at the very last minute.Last minute thanksgiving get together. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server name Kim. She went and got us all waters while we waited for the rest of the party. They arrived and she was quick to help us. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. She kept coming back to check on us even though she was extremely busy. I appreciated how managent came to make sure everything was to our liking and was in there helping the staff…excellent teamwork. We finished our plates and management and Kim came to take them off the table ..Thank you to Kim and staff for making us feel so welcomed and taking care of us…we will be back in a couple weeks for our annual x-mas get together! We don’t want to eat anywhere mgment is crooked like this….and the owner just lets him get away with it. One of the server krista was telling me martine the mgr has a personal relationship with one of his employees Susie…there is too much drama at this place and we don’t care to entertain it. So adios Mel’s…I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want honesty.

We’ve always had good meals when we visit Mel’s. The fantastic things is it doesn’t matter which location. Great service. Friendly, approachable even when it is busy. There hasn’t been a time that I can remember waiting a long period of time for a table no matter what size out party is!

So I am rating a 2 star because of the false advertisement. I ordered the zesty wings and once I received my order they were party wings. I paid a total of $17 for eight party wings and fries. Had I known they were party wings I never would have paid that much.
I hope they work on changing their menu because wings and party wings are two different things.

This venue is always a fun place for a decent bite. Lots of options on the menu, and breakfast is served all day, so there is something for everyone. The staff is very attentive. It can get busy at times. But we rarely have to wait for a seat.

One of the best Mel’s I’ve been to ever! The staff from our waiter to the manager “Uriel” was phenomenal! They acknowledged our food concerns , and how we liked it cooked and prepared, and did just that. Uriel deserves a pay rise at best. Good character professionally and just generally. Rock on Mels Pinole!

Server was incredibly accommodating and genial. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and even had a spare AI steak bottle in her apron pocket!
To be honest, I wasn’t impressed with the first Mel’s I went to on Sunday since they took so long to get me to table and weren’t that friendly. I decided to try out the Mel’s in Pinole since I was in an exploratory mood since my Los Angeles trip driving there and driving home on Friday and Saturday. At the Pinole location, the employees were quick to find a table for me, answer my questions, and to get my transaction going through.
I’ll come back if I’m in the area and feeling like eating here again.
