Not fresh- self service(sanitary? No tongs or hand gloves) at a service station store. Check out counter person was busy talking to someone else in another language while checking me out. Wish I could have found a better location.

I do not know when this place changed hands, must be 4 years or so, but is is no longer what it was. This was a favorite stop, but we have not been that way for some time. Aug 27, 2024 stopped for pies, soda and body stop. Bathrooms stink, soda is weak and pies are terrible. Since this is a franchise the problems may be this store only. Pies are flat with little filling, expensive, too overcooked and taste like old grease. Threw it away and had to brush my teeth. Read the other poor reviews, all the same problems, save your money.

I was visiting and wanted fried pies. I went to Gainsville to “original fried pies”. They were awful. I spent 39.00 and couldn’t eat them. The filling was skimpy and it didn’t taste good. Mostly all bread. So I went to the pie place at 202 w main st. They were delicious, creamy and full of filling. I threw the one I bought out and bought a dozen from this shop. They are actually the ORIGINAL FRIED PIES NOT THIS PLACE.

I was at the pie shop on Hwy 82 in Gsinesville as I had been many times before and loved the fried pies. I had not been in a over a year because I live 45 minutes away so I bought a dozen to stock up. Got home and was sadly disappointed. There was half the filling as there used to be and the cherry only had one cherry inside. They used to be so plump and full of cherries and it was flat. And. I got several cherry because it is my favorite. But they are all flat and lacking on filling mostly all crust. The crust had an old taste to it.I would have gladly been happy with spending the $40 had they been like the used to be but this time a BiG waste of money.

Stopped in to get my wife a soda, and a snack for me. Got her 4 bottles of Real Sugar Dr Pepper (hard to find, so I stock up), and 4 fried pies for us. $26 for all. I’d heard good things about the pies, but I was seriously disappointed in what I got — gummy crust, no filling; nasty! Never again.

Visited this place randomly in the middle of a road trip and WOW – this shop is located in one of the nicest rest stops I’ve ever visited. Giant, clean, well decorated, and offering a plethora of unique items, I would recommend this pie shop and the whole dang rest area to anyone who finds themselves in the general area.

What a shame everytime we pass through the area we grab a fried pie or two, been tradition for years. However the last two times the fried pies are awful- not much filling, more dough and not even fried well. So to the Orginal Fried Pie Shop, bye bye, no more.

Tried the fried pies for the first time… so gross. The pies tasted like they were week old grease. Plus this place has gone down hill. Smells gross and EXTREMELY dirty.
