One thing I do want to mention respectfully is the bathroom. Unfortunately, it often smells strongly like urine, and not in a way that seems like someone just used it, it smells like it has been stuck on the floor for a while. It’s very unpleasant to experience right before a meal. Because the bathroom is such a small space, I think it would really benefit from a deep reset…removing everything, fully disinfecting, and then checking and cleaning it regularly throughout the day.
I’m sharing this because the people and the food are truly wonderful, and this small improvement would make the overall experience match how great everything else is.
For main course or Kung Pao chicken was very tasty (but we didnt like the overload of a cubed crunchy vegetable in this dish).
The vege lamb stew was also delicious along with hot wok tossed fried rice.
Highly recomnend this place !!
We had planned to visit this place when we looked at Chinatown from the UK before our visit and it did not disappoint. We were welcomed with a pot of complimentary Green Tea which was really appreciated given it was -5C outside.
We ordered a Low Mein, Sweet & Sour ‘chicken’, the Buddah noodles and another noodle dish and all 4 were sublime. Good size portions, fresh vegetables, all delicious and with very different tastes.
The service was attentive and friendly, we asked to tip and were told it was included – we managed to get them to rebill with a bigger tip as we were paying by card and they were so appreciative.
1 star deducted for atmosphere as walking through Chinatown there were so many intricately decorated places with lanterns etc – but really if you’re a veggie / vegan (or just like good food) this is the place to eat
Go there and try it!
Usually all chinese places give a liquid like water with tofu, but here it’s so savory, flavor filled, spicy and up for grabs!
The cedar fried rice tastes awesome, usually has a motor oil/wok taste to it – but thats what I bought it for.
Tasty chow fun, mild, flavor rich and yummy.
Beef coriander soup was okish.
Don’t get the dumplings, they seem fresh but just have a bland doughy taste.
It was a gateway to chinese food
