I’ve been to the Optimist many times – it’s probably my most frequented coffee shop. Their lattes are good, not mind blowing, but good.
I’m leaving this review because the food has gone downhill. The BBE sandwich was pretty sad compared to food I’ve gotten here in the past. This specific sandwich was the “new and improved” version of the sandwich I’d always get in the past which was much better. I could make this at home. I added bacon and there was barely any.
Staff is super kind as always – I’ve never met someone I didn’t like here.

Great coffee with a cozy vibe. It’s in a business park, but still feels lively with a lot of plants! They use Black and White beans, and the baristas know their stuff! Good place to meet up or work from home!
Very clean! Nice bathrooms with changing tables.
Espresso drinks are my favorite!
Food prices are a little high, but they are quality and tasty!

I met a friend here for an early morning coffee when they opened at 7am and there was a line out the door! The ambiance in here was great and I was excited to try it.
The coffee/espresso was not great to be honest. It was fine but there is better coffee in Raleigh. Come here for the atmosphere!
Great for a meeting, date, or wfh

This cafe was so delightful. The tea was delicious and the decor was cute. The staff was kind and helpful. This is a cozy place to come for a date or meet up with a group. There is plenty of outdoor seating too.

Pretty cafe and nice menu items. I had a Palm Reader (tea steamer with coconut oolong tea and ginger syrup) from their seasonal drinks menu, which was quite flavorful and refreshing. I enjoyed it alongside a croissant, which was decent but would have tasted better if it was warmed. The only downside was that they were out of snacks (except that one croissant) at the time of my visit (Saturday afternoon around 3 pm).

The Optimist, in Raleigh is a great place to start your day with coffee. Nicely decorated with lots of natural light — the menu is just as impressive. Highlighting the food selection and house made syrups. I found the espresso / cortado to be just right.
Really great place to work or study too — including a private booth to take calls. I’ll be back tomorrow morning.

For the price that you pay (which is over $6 for 12oz) the flavor is almost nonexistent. The coffee itself is ok… But has a thick consistency to it. Not pleased and definitely not a fan considering the price…

Came in right at 8am. They serve black & white coffee. Friendly barista who thanked me for bringing my own mug, which sparked a convo about graduating from the same college at NCSU. If I didn’t live in Orange County, I’d come here weekly. Honestly kind of shocked a place like this is in corporate North Hills.

Love the new location! Super close by to me! The atmosphere is fantastic here, always cool to see different people there doing games and crafts. I had a delicious latte and bomb Goatmeal! Do yourself a favor and come here for your next cup of cofffee!!!!

Great new coffee place I found using google maps. It was my first time visiting so got an order of some lattes and mixed order of their pastries they had at the counter. Looked like a good place to sit and and have coffee plus great natural lighting coming from all the windows. Would definitely make another trip out to this shop.
