We had a lovely brunch at The Open Kitchen this morning. We ordered the gallo pinto and the egg salad bagel. The gallo pinto was amazing especially with the red pepper-based salsa picante. The service was very friendly and spoke excellent English. If you stay at the Outbox Inn, you save 10%. We came back the next day for another gallo pinto and the nutella pancakes .

We loved Open Kitchen! We went twice for breakfast and everything was delicious. They have all kinds of options, including gluten-free and sugar-free items. The food was truly wonderful.
The environment was perfect: small and cozy with a beautiful view of nature. The staff was friendly and very helpful with questions about the local area. Plus, they have free parking right next to the restaurant. Highly recommended!

My girlfriend and I tried a few other places in Santa Elena but this place was by far our favorite. The food, service, atmosphere all incredible. When you ask the waiter what they recommend and they can tell you a specific dish, you know you’re in the right place. We had the chicken souvlaki, orange soup, and cheesecake. All tasted homemade and absolutely delicious. Hope we can come back for brunch before we leave because it’s that good.

We came here for breakfast and it was outstanding. I am not usually someone who gets excited about breakfast, but this place was genuinely excellent. The food was fresh, well prepared, and absolutely delicious.
We ordered the avocado salad bagel sandwich, French toast, and the Popeye omelet, and every dish was a hit. It was a really nice and unexpected treat and easily one of the best breakfasts we had on the trip. I only wish we had discovered it earlier instead of on our last day, because it truly was that good.

Wow! This was one of our favorite meals in Monteverde. After a long day of driving, we were treated to delicious, warm, freshly cooked food. Plenty of vegetarian options to choose from and they were also willing to accomodate changes based on our requests. The fresh hot pita bread with yummy baba ghanoush was a particular highlight for our family. The vegetarian soup was also wonderful in the cold! The servers were also so incredibly friendly and cheerful, it really made us feel at home. We sat on the patio outside and the garden view was unbeatable. Highly, highly recommend to anyone visiting Monteverde.

This place is perfect, right next to our accommodation and has incredible breakfast food. Jeremy and Joel were incredibly helpful and gotta give them caps off for some of the best shakshuka Ive ever had. Not to mention the coffee was also incredible. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Will be going back for the dinner experience
