You have a small but refined menu with something for everyone. I can highly recommend the mushroom soup as a starter. The rest of the food was also really good though. The pricing was also decent.
The waitresses were really observant and nice to talk to. Food came quite quickly.
We can only recommend this restaurant.
Before coming to Copenhagen I did the normal search for places to eat. The Olive seemed to suit and, boy, were we not disappointed.
Lovely bistro style but not so cramped that you couldn’t hear each other.
Staff – superb. Friendly, helpful and willing to chat – even helping us with some Danish words – not that we needed them as they all speak excellent English.
Food – well this must have been some of the best food we’ve had for a bit and that’s not just in Copenhagen. Two of us had the mushroom soup to start. Best mushroom soup ever! Came with sourdough which was a perfect accompaniment. My daughter had the beef carpaccio. A massive plate of beef and again she loved every bit. What I liked was that the server asked us if we wanted to know a bit more about the food. Just showed what care was put into preparing the dishes. For mains we all tried something different – steak, chicken and fish. I needed to make a change to one dressing but that’s not fazing these guys. Did we have room for dessert – well yes! We were replete but not so stuffed that the temptation of a dessert was out of the question. Two of us had the chocolate self saucing cake (sorry no untouched pic for this but it was so tempting we just dived straight in, oops!) It was so, so delicious. My daughter wanted some bread and butter for dessert, and why not I guess, but this did not knock our server off her stride. Everything was just delicious – seem to be saying that word a lot but totally deserved.
Now a couple of things to mention just as an advisory and in no way to deter you from trying this place. If you get a table with a bench seat, it’s a little low for the table so put the tallest guys on that side. There is just the one loo and there is a step down to it. Might come as a surprise so just watch out for that.
All in all we had a great evening.
You’ll need a reservation too on certain dates, I’d suggest. Price is high but reasonable given the quality. Also thought the service was brilliant and a great ambience in the restaurant.
One of the best meals we’ve had this year!
Our fav definitely mushroom soup so creamy and tasty duck confit better than sea bass filet
The only thing tables are small for two people
Dont forget to make reservation before visit
Hannah welcomed us with an amazing attitude and if the food didn’t already make the evening great than Hannah did! She’s witty and funny in multiple languages and gives great recommendations.
Can definitely recommend the confit duck, it was delicious!
Marco was our waiter and was friendly, attentive, funny, and helpful. He also brought me a mini Danish flag to sit on the table as we went on my birthday, which was both random and lovely
Highly recommended. (And worth booking – which is easy to do online.)
