THE BEST EXPERIENCE! My husband and I made a pitstop here for breakfast on our way from Rosanky to La Grange. We got the Omelette Supreme (we think ) and it was soooo good! The atmosphere was just precious. Everybody eating in there knew each other and the staff. I got choked up sitting at our table overhearing the table next to us chat. They were all kind and intentional and asking the waitress about their kiddo! It is an experience you ONLY get in a small town. I felt blessed to experience everyone’s interaction! Then I went to the bathroom and walked out to see their sign that said, “Be a blessing to someone today!” Well, Old World Bakery was a blessing to us this morning! If you are in the area, you definitely need to eat here!

My first time there and it was perfect. Food and service was special. I really liked how Bella, a 7 year employee, made me feel like an old friend. I will be back.

Biggest biscuit ever in their biscuit and sausage gravy dish! Dare you to eat the whole thing. Huge omelets, big pancakes and nice cappuccino served in a proper porcelain cup. Friendly staff. Open for breakfast and lunch. We always try to get down there early enough to have brunch before they close.
11/6/85. Had the chicken fried steak special this morning. Big enough to split with the spouse! Enjoyed it as always.

Loved this cozy spot in downtown Smithville for a delicious lunch. Had a jalapeño popper sandwich on jalapeño bread which was delicious! My husband enjoyed his Reuben.

I went there on a Thursday morning for breakfast and was not disappointed. I had the old world, big breakfast and I could not finish. They have a bakery/cafe Cat named cupcake, who just runs about and minds his own business and will also interact with others. I would highly recommend breakfast here and I plan to return later for the lunch menu.

Oh boy . Well ima tell yall this . For all my buddies out there in bastrop, lagrange , giddings , elgin , flatonia etc. When deer season was in full effect about 5 yrs ago. I decided too stop in. I was in search of those home style biscuits an gravy around 10am that Saturday. It was about 25 degrees outside an I was hungry for a nice warm breakfast. So I ordered the (BISCUIT) an sausage gravy. Ima tell ya if you eat the whole thing well you can just forget any further activities besides football an knapping . So I learned that it’s like two meals. An absolutely the finest an above all around that I’ve seen. Since then I’ve created the Deer Hunters special aka Terences special. Mind yall I didn’t know these folks from Adam. Now I get the biscuit with sausage gravy with a fried egg on top an cheese. Splash it with some special sauce of mine an its just heaven before heaven yall. So yall get ready guys an galls . Just teller you want that an good luck hunting . Now I save my other half for lunch . I also love the daily lunch specials but miss out due too work. Yall should come on out an give them a try. While I was there I honestly couldn’t believe a son brought his mother from Fredericksburg just too get that Saturday breakfast till 2pm. He used too live here he said an moved back home too fredicksburg too be closer too his mother. I definitely would recommend the chicken salad an pastries as I’ve seen people coming from all over. Yall come on out

This café is absolutely worth a stop in Smithville. The atmosphere is charming and the customer service is top notch. My favorite thing to eat here is the breakfast skillet filled with sausage and veggies and the waffles! The staff is here very friendly. I highly recommend this establishment.

Delicious breakfast. I had the potato and onion omelet with homemade rye toast. Yum! Quaint, charming, smalltown atmosphere. Coffee was excellent. Servers. Owner and locals a delight. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Texas for the Round Top Antiques market in the spring.
