The staff are extremely friendly, it feels like everyone enjoys working there and wants to give you a good experience. Our server was very friendly and prompt, gave great suggestions, and seemed to really care that we enjoyed our valentines day lunch.
My partner and I enjoyed a house salad as an appetizer and a cocktail. For entrees, we enjoyed the shrimp and grits, and the crab cake. Their grits are the most incredibly grits I have ever had, and the crab cake had a lot of meat on it. For desert, we enjoyed the rice pudding with a decaf coffee. The bill came to just over $100 before tip.
Overall, such a wonderful experience, I will 100% visit again if I find myself in Savannah! The only downside to this place was that the bathrooms were quite small, but this shouldn’t be a big concern. The Olde Pink House has tons of charm and great atmosphere, and I’m so glad I got to spend my Valentine’s day here!
For starters, the restaurant has different dining rooms with different ambience and decor. The room that we were seated in was very loud and the chairs were very uncomfortable. They were the type of chairs that one might rent for a wedding. The table was also very shaky and wobbly. Just not something one would expect for an elevated dining experience.
For the appetizers, we had the BLT salad and blackened oysters. The BLT salad was good, but not amazing. I really love oysters, raw or cooked in a variety of different ways. However, these were just simply unappetizing. I found them really hard to eat.
Ironically, the star of the show was the complementary biscuits. These were hands-down some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had. They were cooked perfectly and very well balanced with a soft center and crispy outside. They were salty, buttery, and cooked to perfection.
For our entrées, we had the crispy flounder with collard greens and grits and the chef’s fried chicken with mac & cheese. These were both recommended to us by our waiter.
The flounder was cooked perfectly, but we did not enjoy the taste of the flounder with the apricot shallot sauce. The collard greens were good, but the grits were a bit underwhelming. The two did pair very well together though.
The fried chicken was really good, but I would have expected something a bit more impressive. Honestly, I regret ordering it not because it didn’t taste good, but because I could get fried chicken just as good for a quarter of the price from a fast food joint. To be fair, if I was buying this fried chicken from fast food place for a cheaper price, I would probably give it five stars. But it feels like a rip off to charge $35 for 3 pieces of chicken with a side of macaroni and cheese unless there is something truly special or unique about the dish.
We ended up skipping out on dessert for fear of another disappointment.
The staff was great. They were very friendly and attentive.
I ordered two beers and it wasn’t cold enough, so I asked for some ice. Instead, they brought me a fresh beer in a chilled glass without making it a thing. That kind of service is rare now a days.
The servers were the greatest. Most professional and at the same time very warm .
Now I would be honest, the food itself wasn’t the best in my life, but the overall experience made it totally worth it. Highly recommend.
We loved this restaurant so much we came back the next day for lunch and had the buffalo shrimp appetizer and I had the Country fried chicken. I prefer my chicken boneless so this was perfect and the flavor was incredible. This was definitely top 5 best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I loved every bite!!
The service is great and the restaurant is beautiful inside. The house was so nicely decorated for the Holidays, the team did a great job.
Overall, I totally get the hype of this place and would 1000% recommend!
Pros: My husband loved the pork tenderloin, sweet potato and collards. Homemade flacky biscuit was excellent. Crab stuffed grouper was prepared nicely but laid upon the unedible salty mashed potatoes.
My entree not worth $60.00 Would not return.
