A satisfying and scrumptious meal. Very filling British cuisine with some German Oktiberfest mixed in. Burger was delectable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice place for a meal out or a pint at the pub.

Eventhough it was busy and tables were reserved and we did not have reservations on a Tuesday evening, the wonderful staff seated us and we had a nice tasty meal that did not cost us and arn and a leg. Certainly value for money!

A fun place to have a bite. Nice British-style pub food, with a decent whiskey selection. The Scotch eggs are great, if you can get one (they make a limited batch daily). The music is low and the atmosphere is relaxed. The service is pleasant, if a little slow.

I’ve been going to the Old Toad for years now; it certainly is a Rochester classic. The fish and chips are award winning (for at least 6 years in a row I believe), the mushy peas are one of a kind, and you absolutely must try the sticky toffee pudding which is pictured below. There is a very extensive selection of scotches, beers, and wines.

Haven’t been here in years. Came for some fish and chips and boy what a let down. Got like 5 fries and like half a fish. My drink was warm. I know that the Brits have their drinks at room temp but damn I didn’t think they would be that authentic. The place is quaint and charming but the food and drink, on this visit, left a lot to be desired.

So we visited this place 4 years ago. We had a fabulous meal and very authentic english menu. Recently we went there for dinner. We had sausage roll, Scotch egg, fish and chips mushy peas and gravy. The fish was excellent. The rest was so-so. There’s other places to go, if fancy english pub food. If you want drinks only, then it’s a fun place to go
