What an interesting place to eat. The old world charm of dark wood and elegant antique furnishings is charmingly played up by soft tunes from the 40s. The railcar in one section of the dining room would likely be popular with kids.
The food was mostly good. Lasagna that my husband had was very good. It held its shape even though it was tender, and the sauce was tasty. The chicken Parmesan was rather bland, and while not terrible, it was a bit disappointing.
The meals are a good value that included salad or soup and ice cream for dessert.
Our server was fast friendly and efficient. All in all it was a great place to eat in the downtown.

01/07/26- We stopped by after a visit to Riley Hospital for Children because our daughter (6) loves the Old Spaghetti Factory.

We were seated immediately, and to make for a perfect day, we sat on the trolley .

Our favorite server, April, was on duty. April has been there for a few years, and she’s the best! She’s friendly to all our kids and makes them feel welcome.

Today we only had one child. Our daughter immediately asked for sweet tea and macaroni. My wife ordered the meat lasagna, and I ordered the spaghetti Vesuvius.

All meals come with bread and butter, so we don’t order appetizers. Besides, it never takes long for our meal to come out.

April was busy, but we never felt ignored. She made sure to ask for what we needed when she checked on us.

The meals are freshly made and come out hot. All meals come with a side. My wife ordered the salad. My daughter ordered the applesauce and I ordered the minestrone soup.

We all enjoyed our meal, followed by the Spumoni ice cream included with the meal.

If anyone is going to criticize the restaurant industry, then cook at home
Thank you, April!

Absolutely loved this place, especially the atmosphere! Service was also great and the shrimp fettuccine was delicious! It’s a 3-course meal with salad or soup, entree and an ice cream dessert choice of two flavors. They also bring bread & butter to begin with. I will definitely be coming back.

There is something special about revisiting a place that holds decades of memories, and that is exactly how this dinner felt when we discovered The Old Spaghetti Factory Indianapolis Downtown was located just minutes from our hotel. Nearly thirty-three years ago, we had our rehearsal dinner at the Kansas City location of this classic, shortly before it closed. What a shame that such a beloved spot left our hometown. So seeing it again, in a new city, instantly became the perfect choice for our evening meal.

Walking through the grand doors, we were immediately greeted by rich dark woods and stately furnishings. The warm, inviting atmosphere makes you feel welcomed the moment you enter. We were quoted a 30-minute wait for a table, then advised it would likely be less. To our delight, we barely sat down in the waiting area before being called. Once at our table, it did take just over five minutes before our server greeted us. They briefly paused at our table to let us know they would return shortly, and when they did, we were ready to order.

Because we were traveling from out of town, we didn’t want leftovers, so we chose from the classic three-course options that include your choice of minestrone soup or salad, an entrée, and dessert of either spumoni or vanilla ice cream. Our server, Jordan, helped us decide between entrees and steered us toward the lasagna. We also upgraded our salad choice to Caesar. Jordan brought us two perfectly sized Caesar salads accompanied by a beautiful loaf of fresh bread. We added a side of marinara for dipping, which was a delightful addition.
The lasagna arrived in a generous portion that we happily split, with just the right amount for both of us. We also shared the small serving of broccoli. While the cheese topping on the broccoli was our least enjoyed element, it didn’t diminish the overall experience. The portion sizes were perfect — satisfying without leaving us overly stuffed.

We finished the meal by sharing a single serving of spumoni, a sweet and nostalgic ending to a wonderful dinner. From start to finish, this meal at The Old Spaghetti Factory Indianapolis Downtown was a great experience and a lovely reminder of why this classic holds such a special place in our hearts.

Other than the big train car in the middle (that you can eat in) I felt like I was dinning in an old castle. Atmosphere was awesome, service was very friendly, and the food was served very hot. Food was great too.

Our server was Kimberly! She was wonderful and gave us great service. We loved the atmosphere. That night the restaurant was packed as the FFA convention was in town. We were told it would be over an hour wait. But, we were seated within 30 minutes. The food was delicious, so it was a great evening.

Our first time visiting Old Spaghetti Factory while passing through Carmel Indiana. Beautiful decor, very clean. Attentive staff. All meals very reasonably priced around $20 & included warm bread, soup or salad, spumoni or vanilla ice cream. Sampled several sides. All the food was delicious. Spumoni was fantastic. Our server, Hannah, took exceptional care of us.
