I have had the opportunity to visit the old goat multiple times! Each and every one of them was fantastic! I even had a chance to join a wedding party upstairs and it was incredible! Plenty of space and ample lighting as well! My personal favorite on the menu is their pizza! It’s very good and quality ingredients. It is certainly made with love. You can certainly tell. The service is also a key Point, as I am always served with a smile. If you ever have a chance to go here, you won’t be let down.

Service can be a little slow, but only a little. Part of the very cool, laid back, and chill atmosphere. Absolutely friendly! The food is amazing, sandwiches are great. If you go here, you have to have the pizza! Best in the state as far as I’m concerned! Huge selection of beer and a really cool Vibe. Corn hole in the back! Go! You have to! Do it!

Great pizza. All I have had. The staff is super terrific. It is old dive atmosphere. Dark, secretive, “Joe sent me,” but everyone is friendly.

July 30, 2022 – By Serendipity (discovering something by surprise) my wife and I stopped in Richmond , Maine . . . At The Old Goat Pub several years ago to find “ a gem”!
As a former brewer of beers, I appreciate their selection of beers & hard ciders! We also enjoy the casual atmosphere, and chance to sample their lunch items! The Old Goat’s menu is simple but tasty:
3 Salad choices ( Caesar, Greek, SXSW)
7 Paninis ( Bobcat, Reuben, Big Back Yard,
Ozvaldo, Centurion, Ham & Twist,
Corsican)
3 French Roll Subs
2 Quesadillas
Several Pizza Choices
Several Appetizers ( try Old Goat Nachos)
I hear there are new owners who purchased from the original owner, Scott McIntire (who started The Old Goat) in 2004 . There’s a beer garden off to the side of the building. The Old Goat pub has a similar vibe to TV’s Cheers Pub! Our bartender, Aimee, seemed to call some folks by name as they walked into the bar. I like that “ small town” camaraderie! I rate this a 4.6 experience, hoping for a chef that adds a few soups, salads, entrees that set this above the typical pub/restaurant that attracts more folks to Richmond! ( similar to Hollowell)

We rented this place for a wedding reception upstairs. Amazing space. Prompt communication. They were able to accommodate on a short notice.

The food was very tasty. Great choice of pizza and panini’s. Beers, ciders and wine available. The server was already maintaining the bar as well or possibly the whole joint. As long as your not in a hurry and enjoying a laid back evening…it is a great little place to go. I heard it has changed hands in ownership recently. A nice change in atmosphere with a bar and bench seats plus table seating. Outside seating available as the restaurant sees duable for staff and weather. Give it a try… great food and a pleasant experience!

What a great quaint pub on Main St. in Richmond. Friends rave about the pizza here, so l ordered a large double pepperoni for take out. A 16″ double topping pizza was $23. It was New York style and perfectly baked. Crispy crust, well proportioned (sauce, cheese, and pepperoni) and delicious. Don’t sleep on this place! Highly recommend!!

This place has the worst vibe. Walking in here you feel like you just trespassed onto a private gathering. By both patrons and staff alike. I’ve gotten a warmer welcome at the DMV. You would think if someone comes into your business offering to pay you for a service you provide that you might be somewhat friendly to them. In America at least (maybe not in France or Russia, or other snobby or downtrodden countries). It’s Richmond, Maine for God’s sake. Not to mention the overpriced, under impressive food. 13 bucks for a store bought sausage on a soggy store bought roll? The food at Exit 43 is so much better, the staff is normal and friendly, and the prices are much cheaper. Maybe the goat likes to think it’s the local version of Cheers or something, except I don’t remember anyone at Cheers sizing up customers as they walk in. The drunk cow hands at the bars in old western movies were more friendly. Clearly the goat has enough regular customers to keep them in business. Maybe they should close their doors to the public and only let their pals in. Save the rest of us from wasting our time and money. They shouldn’t have the word Public in their name. Pubic maybe.
