When I lived in western Illinois for ten years, the Old Dairy was where we went every Saturday for our lunch and library tradition. My daughters and I continue this tradition every time I’m visiting from NY; the Old Dairy is special to us and more than a dining establishment… it’s a neighborhood center. And it’s the best dining establishment in town. Home-cooked delicious food and amazing desserts and festive drinks. Don’t miss the cookie dough brownies.

Great selections for breakfast and lunch. The specials change frequently, so there are always new entrée selections, as well as standard favorites. The daily special coffee and dessert selections are always great, too. The friendly owner and staff make the Old Dairy feel just like home.

Ate here while up here working for a day, staff was very friendly. Large helpings of food. Hot mess and cow pile were definitely wonderful and plenty to fill you up. Nice place to relax and enjoy a breakfast with the locals.

Everything here is delicious – try the cookie dough brownies. A seasonal favorite is the cranberry tea. This restaurant is very family friendly. Wonderful service. I’ve never had anything short of fabulous here. It’s the perfect stop for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.

Definately under rated. I was in town for a week for work, and no one recommended this place for lunch. I stumbled on it on my last day, and regretted my other lunch choices. For the same price as other places on/close to the square, I got more food, more options, and good quality.

Great atmosphere in an older building. You seat yourself and go to the counter to order. Wide selection of breakfast and lunch entrées. Prices are very reasonable. Besides the ice cream, there are a lot of homemade dessert choices. Some of the breakfast entrees, like the skillets or sandwiches, have options to put sausage gravy (from biscuits and gravy) over them. Get there earlier for the cinnamon rolls.

Amazing food that completes with what I get in the city. I had the Turkey Artichoke sandwich. My husband had the Farmhouse Turkey goat cheese and blackberry sandwich. Rhubarb crisp was spiced without being too sweet. Delicious! Prices and portions are moderate.
