We came for valentine’s and had the most lovely meal here! We went for the seafood sharing platter and it was so much food, and all so delicious! Our cat was delighted they offered us a “kitty bag” to take some leftovers home. The banana bread dessert was also incredible, but we ate it too fast for a photo

Friendly service….waiting staff slightly distracted by “friends/family or other staff members” at the dessert part of the meal and got the dessert order wrong…but was quickly rectified.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant.
Wasn’t a planned visit , we thought we would try our luck getting a table as it was very busy.
Success, we got a lovely table on the side street.
My wife had the Fish & Chips, I had the Bass and our son had the kids Pizza.
All the food was exceptional, the staff were brilliantly. Highly recommend this place if you get a chance to visit.

We ate at The Old Boat House on the first night of our three night stay in Amble. Definitely a good choice. The choice of fish dishes was great and tasted amazing. I had the fish and chips and my husband had the Makeral off the specials board. We hadn’t booked but they managed to squeeze us in. I would definitely recommend booking as its a very popular restaurant. We visited the second evening just for drinks and spent a few hours sat outside enjoying the nice weather. We visited again on the third night with the intention of just having drinks but again it was such a lovely evening one drink turned into three so we decided to stay and ordered pizza, which was just as good. The staff are so welcoming and chatty. Nothing is too much for them. I can highly recommend a visit.

The food was impeccable! Incredibly tasty with very good service. The decor was beautiful and so was the views and the food. We were sat in a corner table which really did feel like the best seat in the house.
The food arrived quickly and promptly, including any extras such as drinks and sides. The seafood was so fresh and cooked to perfection, In our party we had two lobsters, muscles (which were the largest I’d ever eaten!), Hake and king prawns. All was to die for. Was certainly an expensive meal, but I didn’t feel short changed at all!
Would come back if we ever got the chance – make sure to book as it’s a very busy place, you can tell they’ve really cracked the service and food.

Again another fantastic meal at The Old Boathouse. There’s been some renovations done since we were last here and it’s bigger and better than it ever was. Still has that amazing intimate ambiance though and you’re looked after whether there’s just you or whether it’s full. Well skipped on the starter and mains though and went straight for the seafood platter. The crab was amazing, the roll-mop herring was tender and delicious, the sea bream was out of this world! We’ll be back for sure.

We visited for my birthday and was not disappointed at all. The selection was great, with several optional specials on the board too.
When the food arrived it was spectacular. Full of flavour, looked amazing and tasted great.
